unless someone wants to go thru every model code and send me a dealerdaily pdf of the invoice pricing for each model code, I have to wait to get actual invoice pricing via 3rd party websites. msrp was easy to get, invoice is a bit harder to get outside of dealerdaily access.

another good rule of thumb is that you should be able to get between 7-10% of final msrp as a average discount. I consistently get around 9-10% when I deal with dealers in my state but then again I wait months between research/haggle and actually nailing down a decent price and agreeing to a deal.

and the deal has to go both ways, including trade in amount. 1 dealer only gave me 30k for my Tacoma trade in while another gave me 33k and they are over 100 miles apart.

True, it IS a pain in the ass. And I am definitely not knocking you, brother. I am hugely appreciative of all the efforts already in that cost thread. It was super helpful.

I had to painstakingly cobble together my invoice numbers from all of the random leaked documents and other crap that popped up in these threads over the last couple months. Its out there, but I was only focused on my build at the time.

yeah right now I am trying to figure out the price difference on the difference model code for the big packages since it seems they vary from model code to model code which is way out of line from the norm for Toyota usa. usually a package code has a set price no matter the model code.

and then how do I show that in the table in a sensible way to not confuse people.

Must be by weight or size Tundras are higher. Not sure unless they have car haulers that can hold more Tacos than Tundras

All depends on what they give you on trade. Dealers make their money on used cars especially nice trade ins. They will discount new vehicle more if they know they can make money selling trade in.

Some dude in the other thread said he got $500 under invoice. I thought that was impressive. I'm just happy within a few hundred of invoice. Especially in outrageously expensive SoCal. Most dealers were demanding MSRP. Screw that.

33.5k seems pretty low for a '18 TRD OFDC 4x4... is it a manual?

I'd jump on it and/or wait 10 months and get another $1,500 off and better financing.

I agree, it looks like the MSRP cost for 2018 is only ~$1k above last year. Considering that another local dealer is asking that same ~$35k for a 2017, it was a pretty easy decision to sign for a 2018 that’ll come fresh off the truck.

Youre right, I had to look at the spec/cost sheet again. It was sans taxes and that does include all-season mats/door sill protectors, and mudgards. I didn’t want premium, nor tech package so it’s exactly what I wanted. I figure once you get up into the $30k range it seems silly not to spend a couple grand more to get what you want. Ultimately it won’t change yer paymenys much, especially if you get a great loan rate (on that note I recommend Inspirus credit union in Seattle/spokane. They are offering 2.8% for up to 72 months. At that rate you’re not paying much interest over the life of the loan).

Kind of off topic here but I was talking to a dealer about a Tundra Pro and he said sure I can have one at MSRP. When I replied that I do not pay MSRP for anything he got kind of snide with me. I told him to keep his damn Pro. This same dealer had sold a Tacoma Pro to the local QW for $3k off MSRP so I though maybe I could get a deal from him. Sales dude was all wind and smoke. He bragged about how they were a volume dealer. When it came time to prove it he quit calling and texting.

2018 Tacoma TRD Off Road DCSB 4x4 V6 Auto (code 7544 model)
    MSRP: $36,115 Invoice: $33,456

    Main options that I got:

Offroad Premium Package (OF) - MSRP: $2,625 Invoice: $2,336
Technology Package (TP) - MSRP: $770 Invoice: $686

These are the numbers that I was working with. I *think* they are accurate. They were grabbed from Costco Auto Program site and various leaked Toyota documents found around here.

    Hopefully this helps someone.

    Here you go...
No invoice pricing on options or packages just the models. I got this off Autotrader.com. I put it in excel for ya, and also added the model numbers in front and separated the MSRP and Invoice into separate columns.....
