I am looking at a 2018 TRD OR 4x4 in Cement. Tech Package and FloorMat. MSRP is $38,796. I've got them down to $35,500+ttl. I am located in SoCal and Cement is in high demand here most dealers wont haggle much on the color. Seems like a good deal to me. Should I go pick it up?

That’s a great deal. You’re like at around $38,000 total depending on your tax rate.

Invoice is ~ 36500... but one of your issues is that he’s doing an in kind trade to acquire the truck you want. Do a regional search of dealers around you and find out where the truck is from. Then, go to that dealer with a simple question.... “I’ve been offered a truck just like yours for 37K+TTL, what is the best you can do?” I’d bet you get a more appealing offer. I’m surprised many people won’t entertain the idea of - Would you drive an hour to save $1,000?

Very good deal! The dealer incentives are helping bring the prices down... this was a $30+ deal a month ago.

I found a 2018 Quicksand Double Cab TRD Offroad Long bed, w/ Tech package and All weather floor liners/door sill protectors MSRP 38,718, Dealer offered it at 35,999 plus tax title and fees. Good deal? Or not?

In Eastern Idaho, working my trade numbers separate from this, sales tax will be 6%, Registration maybe $100, Dealer fee is $300 approx.

Ended up getting an AC Sport MT with a tonneau cover and door sill/weather mats but no other options for 32,250. MSRP was 35,600, the “invoice” was around 33.5. Seemed like there were extremely few trucks with AC and MT out there, but they must not sell well because the dealers who actually had them on their lot were the most willing to go down on price.

You have to really want a MT given there is no fuel mileage advantage. Specific buyer's want them but they are fewer and fewer between. Kind of like when I sold my house with a swimming pool. Cuts out 50 percent of buyer's off the bat. You have to find someone who is looking for one.

Makes sense. Besides a long bed it was my #1 priority for no other reason than I like it. Put those two together, and there is exactly one trim level and very few actually built trucks. Some dealers tried to sell me on the “unicorn” status, but I think the truck I bought had only been test driven once, and it wasn’t newly arrived.
