Paid $37635 for 2018 TRD Off-Road 4x4 DCSB, auto, with premium and tech packages. That was $3070 off MRSP which was $23 below listed invoice pricing. They also threw in the all weather floor mats.

Got my Tacoma today. Found one on the lot at a dealership 45 minutes away. Used quotes from other dealers to get within range, then set up a meeting.

Off road, Tech, premium, liners and tonneau cover. Magnetic grey.

We settled at $36,986 after rebate, including $1045 destination.

I used the info in this thread to help calculate costs. Note that base model price went up $200 in June and destination fee jumped from $995 to $1045.

    MSRP breakdown
    Base: $36,315
    Tech Package: $770
    Premium package: $2,625
All weather liners + sill protectors: $228
    Tonneau cover: $650
    Total: $40,588
    Destination: $1045
Grand total: $41,633 (which matched the spec sheet provided by dealer)

    INVOICE breakdown
    Base: $33,656
    Tech Package: $686
    Premium package: $2336
All weather liners + sill protectors: $144
    Tonneau cover: $579
    Price increase: $200
    Total: $37,401
    Destination: $1045
    Grand total: $38,446

So my deal-- including $1000 manufacturer rebate-- was:
    $4647 below MSRP
    $1460 below invoice

Overall I was within $50 of the below-invoice offer of from my failed special order, so it seemed like a comparable deal.

Finance: I went in pre-approved through my credit union, with an interest rate about 0.75% below the currently advertised local offer from Toyota Financial. TF agreed to match the rate but couldn't beat it so I went through my CU in the end. Easy enough.

Hope this helps someone sort out their future purchase.

I want the leather, heated seats and dual climate control but am too tall for the the moon roof. Would love to see more options for varied combos.

He could've put between $5k-$10k and had little to no state taxes, then would it be a good deal? OTD means so little for comparison

Why do people include taxes, registration, dealer fees etc in there price

Every state charges a different registration fee and sales tax and every dealership charges a different up your ass fee. I don't get it, just put the price of the truck before all the other variables then it means something!

Sadly, it is the dealers that convolute the numbers on new buyers (inexperienced/uninformed). They don’t want them seeing “all that stuff”. They want you to focus on “OTD” and that “monthly payment”. They can do way more damage that way.

Yep, my dealer was quoting monthly payment figures that included their optional warranty packages, I shut that down right away. Got gap coverage from my regular insurer, too, since that's always greatly inflated at the finance desk.

This was my second time buying from a dealer. I felt way more prepared this time but still had to ask 'em to stop and let me review numbers a couple times. I'm not paranoid, it's just that I don't go through this process several times a week like the salespeople do. I can't drop almost $40k on anything without taking a second look at the terms.

I spent about 7-8 months researching my purchase. Went on three test drives, solicited numbers from 10 dealers and ended up buying from a place that wasn't even on my radar until Monday night, lol.

TRD OFF ROAD DOUBLE CAB 4X2 V6 AUTO, tech package, bed lights, floor mats(carpet), exhaust tip, mudguards, d-rings, alarm, glass break sensor, auto tale gate lock, window tint, connection kit, $29750. Not a big fan of new car shows but my brother went and the Toyota booth was giving out $500.00 coupon/manufacture rebates for new car purchases. He mailed me his and I was able to use it in addition to the $1500 rebate.

He said he put cash down. I interpreted his post as he financed $20,720. He didn't actually get the truck for that price. He probably put $8-$10k down on the truck, which means he paid $28k-$30k for the truck. More like $32k-$33k after financing it if you include the 5-6 years of interest.

I wanted a 6MT (aka stick) with all the options in Cement, but not surprisingly there are none around. The dealer put an order in for me for a 2018 Cement Sport DCSB 6MT with Premium + Technology Packages and the tonneau. I figured with having to order from the factory and getting a somewhat unusual combo of manual tranny + fully optioned out that I wouldn't get much of a discount, but they took $2100 off which puts it at just over $37k (which includes a ~$1k "delivery processing and handling", which I think is the destination fee, but I assume not TTL of course). That seem reasonable considering special order? They are one of those "no haggle" places so not much I could do to get more, but I like them and they offer a lifetime powertrain warranty on all new vehicles so a bit of extra value there too.

Going to take a couple months to come in and as was said previously I guess can't lock in the APR or manufacturer rebate until they get the truck basically, so hopefully the 1.9% or $1000 cashback or a better deal will be around in mid to late September when it rolls in. Currently that is better APR than I can get from my bank so might go with it if still around.

    $2100 off MSRP?

I just went through a whole bunch of quotes for a similarly optioned Off Road w/ AT, custom order and the best prices were around $37.5k including destination, a little over $4k off MSRP before rebates.

I found it helpful to calculate the invoice price using the numbers here:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/3rd-gen-tacoma-model-package-option-costs-master-list.388345/

I know the Sport and MT are priced a little differently but I'd expect the potential discount to be around the same. That said, if you're happy with the price you got, I'd say leave it be. I had a hard time getting dealers to reconfig their allocations to my spec. Some wouldn't even consider it, and they guy who said he'd do it for me ended up flaking.

Looking through that a Sport DCSB 6MT 4x4 with both packages and tonneau, plus destination, the invoice is right at ~$36k and MRSP is ~$39k (which is within a couple hundred of the MSRP sheet they showed me, might be slight variance). So they are closer to invoice than MSRP, don't think that is too bad. The MT is hard to find in that trim level and I think is what makes the difference, so I don't think is too bad for custom order. I might have been able to get something closer to invoice if I shopped around a lot, but I'm not dissatisfied with it. Wanted to lock in exactly what I wanted this year since it sounds like 2019's might jack up a couple thousand.

Well to put it right, took over ( with wife's help she in auto finance with a big bank ) 4 hrs of B.S. haggling with them from that 33K to 26.8K and I put down 7k. which is why it's down to 20.7k finance. I had a Focus ST which Car Max gave me 16K for and I pay some small bills and put down the 7K.

Hey guys! Just joined and been enjoying all the good info on these forums for awhile now but today may be the day I get a Tacoma! For a OR DCLB 4x4 w/ tech PKG and floor liner/door sill they are quoting me $35,739.42, $2,978.58 under MSRP. Seems to be in the general ball park of what you guys have gotten here in the PNW.

But wondering why they told me I can either get the "good" interest rate of 3.99% OR the $1000 off. Saw one guy here got both so maybe it's just a matter of negotiating it. Yeah?
