Yep. Sometimes dealer will make take money off the top, but give you less on the trade-in.

MSRP on my truck was $39,589, final price before TT&L and before trade was $37042. With Texas TT&L, it was $39566. After trade, $36,566.

WOW I have been talking to the dealers in the bay area and sacramento and they keep telling me they can't even meet between MSRP and inventory price. they say the truck is in too much demand for them to make that deal.

Consumer reports for short money will tell you about every markup. What they pay, what you should pay. Incentives in your part of the country, etc.

Emailed 12 dealers in my area with what I was looking for along with the invoice price of the truck and options. I asked them what was the best they could do. 10 replied back at MSRP. 1 replied back at $1,500 over invoice. 1 replied back at invoice. I went with the one at invoice. All done in a day.

Wow! your tax is so cheap! $300 bucks? Here in CA, I paid around $3,000 in taxes alone.

Just curious, did you have a trade-in?

I bought a 16 Tacoma TRD Off Road 4x4 at Town and Country Toyota in Charlotte, NC last Monday. MSRP was $36,907 and invoice was $34,632, I paid $33,991. They are a no haggle dealer and they had the cheapest price I could find. They list their discounted price on their website, so you don't have to call or drive there to get their best price.

They can email all they want. I'll just add them to the junk folder.

They charged $1040 taxes @ 3%, $689 for document fees, $72 for tag swap, and $99 to register some paint etching security thing (Phantom Footprints). The out the door price was $35,891.40.
