wow, Whats the rear setup look like? I am up there too and always amazed at how the rear starts to pile up. Fully loaded my rear is 7k or so. This year or end of last year finally bent my rear axle and blew out another rear end. I have a Tundra rear on order to remedy it.

Nice to see someone heavier than me, lol. I hit 7540 I believe it was, but that included tongue weight of a loaded car trailer (total weight around 4500lbs, tongue maybe 5 to 600?)

That was fully loaded for a 20 day trip. Wife wants to pack all the water and everything we'll need from the start, for some reason.. (She doesn't know stores exist outside of our city, I think.....).

I've destroyed my rear differential on the trail, but that's the only problem so far... Don't bounce a heavy truck! (Luckily the front was still OK, so I was able to drive myself out)

My truck weighed in at 5300 lbs.
I have sliders (140 lbs), Yakima bed rack (aluminum), and the aluminum TRD skid. I had about 280 lbs of people weight.

I thought I replied to this a couple years ago. Weight should still be the same, around #5100.

Note that the 9000 includes a trailer, it's not just on the truck.

Yeah, if we were counting trailers, I've been right up against GCVWR, which is like another 2000 pounds over that.

well holy shit how the hell is my truck 5560lb it has a Softopper

I imagine that is the before number
Then you have to minus your body weight sitting in the truck at the scale

not sure exactly what they weigh stock. Google is vague.

    I guess
    -hi lift
    -steel skids
    -front and rear bumper
    -sliders
    Adds up

is it even worth lighter aluminum
And is having more weight bad?

It reduces performance (acceleration and braking), reduces fuel mileage, and increases wear on suspension.

I've got the 7760lb truck (fully loaded for a long trip).
    I'm using steel wheels.
Over the weekend, I noticed one of my tires was slowly leaking air. I couldn't find the leak, but a tire shop did... My wheel is cracked. They found cracks on a 2nd wheel, too. (Not by the lugs, which I've seen... But the big flat part inside, under the tire, where it holds the pressure)
I have to assume it's related to being so heavy. (unless this is more common than I realize, but first time I've heard of cracked steel rims w.out being caused by some kind of impact) The wheels lasted about 90k miles.

5210lbs.... Heavy. 15 MPG on 87, 13 MPG on winter gas. :bananadead:

Sounds like my truck isn't much heavier than some of the ones in here though.

All steel bumper, skids, and heavy duty sliders. 12k winch with synthetic rope. Toolbox with gear. 295 33s, Falken M/Ts.

I pulled in to a closed weigh station, figured what the hell, and weighed the truck, I was at 6,500 lbs
Now I'm trying to shed pounds, getting rid of my Alpha tent, Decked system! I just replaced my rear diff, literally
shredded apart as I was accelerating on the hwy, replaced all 4 wheel bearings over the last year, I kinda feel like the
weight had something to do with it!!
