My first post here. I was wondering how much weight can a 2.4 auto pull / tow?
If I put a 5000# hitch on and Trans cooler just what can this engine and or taco handle ?
Trying to figure out if I can setup for a small camper or go with setting up for truck bed camper setup.
I am trying to figure out a way to do some traveling for work in other states and probably be living in camp grounds until finding housing.
Also would like to see the nation parks sometime too.
    Thanks

    In short... nothing.

My 2.4 with a manual is a dog towing, it can't hardly hold speed unloaded and just gets worse when you load it up. I pretty regularly tow my bike on a trailer and rarely get into OD, it's usually shifting between 3rd and 4th to get it to hold 70-75 mph. I have no idea what it weighs but it's a cheapo 5x10 utility trailer and a sportbike so not much, maybe a little over 1000 lbs. You're technically rated for 3500 lbs but I wouldn't personally take it anywhere near that for any distance.

Getting something moving is about 1/10th of safely towing. I can move a 5000lb camper with my riding lawn mower (probably).
