How much would you actually pay for one of these two tacomas?

    Hi guys i am new to the forum but i am looking at tacomas and i saw two of them in my area and i would like to know how much are you willing to pay for each of these. Note they are both selling from the same dealer/owner and both are 2.7L 4 cylinder

    OPTION 1:
    1997 Toyota Tacoma extended cab 4WD 2.7 cylinder auto 120,000 miles, power windows, ac. Take a look at the craigslist ad. Asking price $7,000. It also has some dings and scratches on the right side.
    EDIT: THE VEHICLE'S PRICE HAS DROPPED TO $6200! SO IM GONNA SEE WHAT I CAN DO. ITS WEIRD WHEN I LOOK AT THE LINK IT ON CL IT SAYS 6200 BUT WHEN I CLICK ON IT THE PRICE GOES TO 7000 ON THE TITLE BAR

    OPTION 2:
    1995 toyota tacoma, reg. cab, 4WD 2.7 cylinder auto, 120,000 miles, ac, some oversized tires and it has manual windows nothing much but its still looks good. Take a look at the ad. Asking price $5,000.

    im not sure about yor area. but in my area I would pay some where around 6k. the 95 around 5k seems good but i would deffinatly look at those suspenion parts, frame, etc

    Its a hard choice but I would go with the 97 because it looks pretty untouched, modifications are good, but you really dont know what sort of can of worms you might be opening if you buy a truck with a big lift and tires, all sorts of stress on the frame, suspension, and many other things. Plus you can never be sure if everything was installed by a professional or someone with little experiance.

    header, k&n intake, ome coils, springs and struts,diff drop, Urd simulator, dynomax exhaust, slotted roters, bpv relocater
    I would try for a 5 speed locking hubs one like mine. I paid 6500 for mine with 157k. I had to put another thousand to get it where I could dd it. I love my 97. It looked clean as a whistle too.

    I would wait for a 5speed as close to stock as possible.

    It looks solid, I would start out by offering him 6500 for it, if they seem negotiable, go down to 5k and see what happens!:D Good luck and hope to see you driving it soon!

    caged, camburg long travel, 50t leafpack (soon to be installed) light rack over cab, 5pt harnesses etc
    you cant start high and go lower when offering. the world doesnt work like that lol

    Doug Thorley Headers, Magnoflow 24' muffler, URD short shifter kit, Fox coilovers re-tuned with Total Chaos Upper control arms in front set at 2.5 inch lift, 10 inch Fox rear shocks with resi in back with custom bedcage , Full front and rear Fiberglass, Slotted Tundra rotors with green stuff brake pads, Steel braided brake lines all around, Ultragauge OBDII, Sliders, Front and rear tube bumpers.
    Pass on both and look for a 98+ they have different upgraded parts all over.

    Or get the 97 and ask no more then 5k...

    Around here, that 97 would be considered a fair buy at $7K. It's not a bad asking price. You may want to check out the frame rust posts on the forum. They can look great on the outside and still have frame rust. I sold my 1998 SR5 Extended cab automatic 2.4L for $5500 October 2011, but it was a 2WD. It looked new, though.

    Check the title too if they came from up north they have a higher chance for frame rust problems. If theyve been in florida their whole lives the frame rust might not be an issue. Also the 95 says new paint...makes me wonder whats under that coat they put on there.

    Hey guys just wanna say that the 97 tacoma went down to 6200. Definitely gonna go take a look at it and offer a decent amount and if he doesnt want it then i will go a little higher but thats it.

    Umm, start at $5k, then work up to $6,500... Once you offer $6,500, they certainly aren't going to go lower...

    i'd vote for 97. its extended cab and according to add has various parts replaced like belts and brakes.

    i'd say off top of my head that $6200 isn't terribly high for private seller. i'd offer $5500 and work up a few hundred

    K&N CAI, Magnaflow muffler, Xenon (non-HID) high/low, Reese aftermarket reciever/plug n play 4 pin, "Taco" badge, 4x4 mud flaps and no further markings Bilstein 5100's at all 4 corners - struts set at 2 inches taller, rear stock height. Magnaflow Exhaust, K&N intake, Husky box carpeted w/LED lights - secured by pros, mounts for AR15.
    Around my neck of the woods, Tacomas are hard to come by. I searched (half-a**ed) then enlisted the help of a broker. It came to solid non wrecked 1997-2004 4x4 for 9 to 12k. No luck. My bro was talking about getting rid of his for something bigger, so I ended up trading my 2006 Chevy Z71 (perfect - I owned since new). Couldn't be happier

    Also sold my Jeep Wrangler because as much as I liked it, it is no Tacoma quality wise. Hence reg cab -- I do a lot of off road'n.
