Sounds like a worn out motor mount(s).

When the engine is under load it won't vibrate.

Some interesting feedback. A lot of mixed opinions. Other then worn out motor mounts what else should I look for that could be lose or worn out that may cause it. I'll do some looking myself before I have the dealer look again.

Just seems to make a noise..maybe more of a clicking rather then a chatter. I did look it up and seems toyotas in general have had a problem of that.

Try cleaning the throttle body. Possibly some carbon build up behind throttle plate. Check out technical chat for "how to". Easy peasy. No vibrations on my 09.

Ill give that a shot...probably would be beneficial for the truck even if thats not that culprit. Thanks.

Probably the easiest thing to try, and can only benefit your truck either way, is run some fuel injection cleaner (I use Techron) through a fresh tank of gas, and go out, and do an Italian tune up (take it for a spirited ride, and blow out all that carbon build up).

That certainly will help clean injectors but doesnt do squat for throttle body. No fuel spray thru TB.

No shakes on my 05 V6. The one time it did shake it ended up being that the air intake was disconnected :anonymous:
Hooked it back up and shakes were gone.

I dont know if this helps but I found this: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/heater-fan-vibrates-on-higher-speeds.212387/ seems he had shit stuck in the fan itself and caused an imbalance in the fan causing a clicking...

Did you get maintenance records with the truck? I know the V6 requires new plugs every 30k miles (likely some other items too) which, if not done, could cause poor idle. If you don't have it already, get proof that all previous maintenance was done on your rig.

There should never ever be any vibration in a steering wheel of any car, truck, suv or tank. Well... if you are vibrating in a tank, you are SOL!

One thing I noticed this morning while driving was while stopped there was a slight load on the engine, i assume from the defroster being used and the rpms jumped up very slightly and the vibration went away. When I got home put the truck in park the rpm's increased slightly and it went away.

Is it possible that it is idleing too low? Probably idels around 550-600 rpm. When put in park and the vibration went away it jumps up to around 700, maybe 750.

I just returned from the dealership with mine. They had it for 5 days. Took in for unacceptable vibration/shaking when idling.
Vibration happens when truck is in gear and stopped, like at long traffic signal. Vibration starts after about 5-8 seconds after stopping
and gets progressive worst the longer stopped. This happens each and every time while stopped with truck in gear. Does not seem to
happen when engine is cold. Tacoma has ~1680 miles.

Was told all Tacoma 3.5 has the vibration, even started up a new one. It did have a slight vibration but not like mine. They are escalating to next level with Toyota. We'll what they say. May have to keep escalating up to President of Toyota.
