What year & trim do you own? Is it Tacoma, T4R or???

It obviously was 99%+ interstate with the cruise set at 70mph. Had some luggage and the two dogs (220 pounds of dog). My other shit was in the Camry following me. The Camry was loaded with another pup, 150lbs of dog food, & a shit ton of other crap. It's a '15 XLE 4 banger with 6 speed auto and got 37.1mpg.

In my normal work commute the T4R does ~20mpg with a pretty high percentage of the driving being interstate....120 mile round trip for work.

14 t4r trail. I'm lifted with tires and underbelly armor so it's not a surprise lol. Sometimes I get better mpg driving in the city va interstate. For me my mpg won't improve over 65 lol

3rd gen 4runners are nuke proof

BUT there is one risk to know about and correct before it happens (200 bucks for a new rad)

you must replace the radiator immediately if it is original
no questions asked, no fretting about it, it is a must

as the 3rd gen with automatic tranny
is extremely prone to 'radiator old age > 10 years' and the interface between the automatic
tranny cooler embedded in the radiator splits and you can milkshake the tranny = big repair job

just google '4runner milkshake' you'll find many stories, incl mine somewhere

that's it, otherwise completely bombproof if you follow manufacturer recommend intervals including timing belt changes

    Nice nice.

I would like to have a Trail or Pro with small lift & some 33x10.50s but, I couldn't bring myself to do it knowing 90%+ of my use is what it is.

Mine does pretty good most the time but it about got hung up yesterday putting it through the woods at the parentals.

The small lift does wonders, even with my skids I hAve yet touched the bottom doing all of my shenanigans

    Exactly.

Mine sunk several inches yesterday in a soft spot near a creek/spring. With my street tires they just loaded up...bad. I was shitting myself thinking it was going to the frame.

This is incorrect information. While the plant in Texas makes the Tundra, all 4Runners are still made in Japan. My 2016 TEP was made in Japan.

All 4Runners have been built at Toyota's Tahara plant at Tahara, Aichi, Japan,
or at Hino Motors' Hamura, Japan plant,
    and in Brazil.
