Does the automatic work the same way with the shift knob removal?

The pink wire that you cut what is that for, is it the ground for the shifter allowing you to shift from park to drive when you press on the brake?

I don't understand the need for this...is it "just because"?

So you can be pushing out 400w while driving. Biggest thing I use it for now is the crock pot. I'll have it plugged in when I go do trails and it's ready by lunch time. Got that from some of the guys I've ran with here. Could also be used to plug in your laptop while driving. Just whatever you want really.

Not sure I quite understand your question. From my understanding it's the wire that actually tells your truck it's in park/neutral. So having one end grounded makes the truck think it's always in P/N.

I can't speak for sure, but it appears to be something that measures continuity. As in, when in park or neutral the signal is grounded, when in a drive gear the signal becomes broken.

Ok I understand it it tricks the computer into thinking it's in p, enabling you to use the inverter at 400......right?

Questions for guys that have done this mod; does grounding the pink wire affect anything else in the truck? I know there is a similar hack that enables you to access menu / navigation functions that are grey'd out when in motion, but the GPS does not update since it does not believe the truck is in motion. You have to switch it back off for the GPS to update. Does the pink wire affect any of this?

Nope. Didn't make any difference to the head unit. Would've been nice if it had disabled the gps being grayed out while moving.

Has anyone figured out witch wires to tap for in-cab 110v AC? I tried the ones from the 2nd gen thread and no luck with that pair.

    Thoughts?

Thank you. this is great. I quickly learned how the 400w doesn't run while moving during a kayak fishing tournament. Trying to to make coffee on the move and it didn't quite get there. lol. Going to give this one a go this weekend.
