If you just click the traction control button it like half disables it....if you hold it, it’ll disable it altogether. There’s a sticky thread in the 3rd gen section for 4x4 modes that explains it

Here in southern Nevada I see chains required (if not 4x4) to go to the local mountains.
There seems to be an exception for snow rated tires.

    Would that apply to 2WD or 4WD only ? (I have Wildpeaks AT3W 's on a Prerunner)

We can’t have chains on the front wheels of our trucks since they’d hit the UCAs (3rd gens anyway, pretty sure it’s the same for 2nd gens) so it doesn’t matter if you’re 2wd or 4wd since they’ll only be on the rear. So for you, if you had a tire with the 3-peak mountain & snowflake symbol, you shouldn’t need chains. I’m not sure if Wildpeaks have that

I tried that and it turns off but only below 30mph. Its pretty rediculous that I can't do donuts (among other things) in a new truck that I paid $38k for and is labeled as the trd "off road" model. I hope I'm just missing something and this isn't really the case, but Im pretty sure it is unfortunately.

If it's coming back on over 30mph you didn't completely disable it. You've gotta hold the button down for like 5 seconds, and you have to be stopped also it won't do it if you are moving.
