Well, I figured I'd finally do this mod today. I also did the 400W anytime mod while I was in there. Everything turned out great. Thanks OP for putting this write up on here.

I was going to just put the outlet in the rear of the center console. That wouldn't make sense for me, because my rear seats are almost always folded down for my dogs platform.

I knew if I tried to make the hole perfect, it wouldn't be.... So, I figured I'd just hide it with a switch plate...

I didn't care about being stealthy or trying to make it look factory. I actually really like the way this turned out.

I did have to trim this plastic bracket under the shifter console cover for the outlet to fit. I warmed it up with a heat gun first so it wouldn't break more than I wanted. Then, I just cut it with some shears.

Hey gang, I have another project Im working on while it warms up enough for me to install my power sliding rear window. I found these snap in receptacles at Jameco and with a little bit of filing and a little bit of work on my 3d printer, it looks like I can fit an outlet into those little delete panels in the front console below the HVAC controls. I need to do some more work on the 3d model to make the outlet sit flush, but if I decide to run off a batch would anyone be interested ? I'll of course post the STL files so anyone can make one if they want to on their own for free, open source FTW.

Those are cool. I'd prefer a USB version.

Looks good. If my seats weren't always folded down, I'd have put mine there as well

I can say that the USB seems to charge my iPhone as fast as when I'm on my iPhone charger at home.

You guys are rock stars! I put an outlet / dual USB in the back of my console, and did the full-time 400 watt mod. The instructions here were fantastic; I think it took 1.5 hours, including the trip to Home Depot where I pondered which outlet I was going to use for about 20 minutes. I signed up here just to say thanks!

    400 WATT ANYTIME

Find the connector that connects to the inverter.

Violet with white stripe. (Cut and cap off both ends)

Manual Transmission only. blue with black stripe (cut and cap the clutch wires)

Solid violet wire. (cut and cap off the side that is not connected to the inverter) then the other end, extend and connect it to a ground.

Thats pretty much it. Pretty simple. Make sure it works. Turn your truck on, put it in drive, push the power switch and the 400 watt should stay on if you did it correctly.

This deserves a thread of its own. The original TW thread vaporized and the only one remaining is over on TN.
