    The screws actually make the flimsy plastic bow slightly. I wanted to get a metal plate, but HD was out of them. In the future I will replace with metal, or what I really want to find is some type of rubber gasket to go around the cut to give a finished look. But it does sit very flat. Positioning your cut properly will determine how flush it sits.

    I grabbed a bezel to determine mine, I can't get it in any position where It sits flat, which would drive me nuts! Which is why i sourced out the ford plug. Subaru sells a really nice one but for 120 bucks it isn't worth it. Anyone know of any toyota models which came with a ac outlet in the vehicle?

    I think this is exactly what I'll be doing.

    Don't you hook up the Blue Sea usb directly to a 12 volt source though?

    I did this mod today using a coiled up cord under the passenger seat. Took about an hour but, has anyone else plugged in a receptacle tester into both their in-cab and bed 110v outlets? I get an open ground indicator but I've checked with a meter and I have grounded continuity.

    Let me know if yours shows the same or correct wiring.

    Your tester maybe showing an open or hi resistance between the AC circuit's neutral and the truck chassis ground. A normal house circuit has a very low resistance, as the neutral is connected to ground in your home's AC panel.

    This is because of the inverter. Its not a true ac circuit. If you really want to no more google it . Im no teacher but i learned about it in class its a lot to explain if you don't no ac/ dc theory. As long as you dont have continuity between ground and your hot or between hot and neutral and you have 110 to 120 from hot to neut your fine.
