True I would do the Same. The only thing i've heard so far about the matter is on newer vehicles sometime there is a one way abs valve that separates the abs from the line. If you don't use the bleeding method it will force air into the line because the fluid isn't getting pushed back into the reservoir. I've only heard of this system in 2015 gmc's not any tacomas ;)

Wonderful tutorial- I just replaced the rotors/pads on my '07 Sport 4x4 DC. Your tutorial made things go very smoothly. Thanks!

Didn't see it mentioned but do you reinstall master cylinder cap before or after pumping brake pedal?

Was thinking I needed to probably change all the pads at 82K. Still got a lot of pad left. Guess I can take the ones I bought back. Went on ahead while I had the wheel off and painted the calipers black.

Ok, nice video the only thing I can add after doing this for a very long time is pushing the brake fluid back could cause the abs light to come on or cause damage to the abs system or both like you said. Best bet is to open the bleeder while pushing the piston back and add fluid, no need to bleed the system if done correctly.

That would be a no, way back we used hand tools, ratchet and sockets. today air tools make it so much easier and faster.

Good Video, Just got a new 2015 Tacoma so its of value to me. For bleeding I use 1/4 in Oxygen tubing, Push it on over the fitting and the fluid stays in the Tubing and when bleeding, you can see the bubbles and theres no chance of getting air into your lines.

OP, thanks for the video. I just changed my pads and rotors today. I have to say, I'm very disappointed in the EBC green stuff pads. I installed mine at 30000 and now at 65000 they were completely worn. I expected more than 35,000 miles out of a set of pads, is this an unrealistic expectation?

I replaced them with Akebono ceramic pads and centric rotors, hopefully will get more miles out of these.

When backing out of the driveway after installing, applied the brakes and there was a terrible grinding/shudder. Is this normal? I'm guessing it's the pads/rotors wearing off the coating but wanted to double check. Drove a few miles and didn't experience it anymore.

Plasti-dipped upper fenders and emblems. satin black spray paint here and there inside and out. 5100's set to 1.75" up front . C channel front bumper. Maxxis bighorn 255/85/16
i've noticed a slight rotaional squeal when turning under some acceleration (it may be there other times but thats when i notice it anyway) i also see that my front rotors are discolored and im wondering if maybe i need to deglaze them and if the squeal could be the pad contacting the rotor due to inertia in a turn or at least contacting the built up part causing the squeal. just wanting to get some thoughts. im gonna deglaze sometime next week or the week after. its only gonna be like 101-102 ha i may wait till it cools down a bit

New member here and great video!!
One thing I noticed is the rotors don't need is a shot of brake cleaner as the black coating is supposed to help in the bedding of the pads. another is EBC isn't the best pad. I used to run them on a few vehicles and the quality is not there. I would recommend stop techs, or aki.

    Too few to list.
How many miles do you have? Our 2009 has over 92K miles and are still on original pads. The fronts are still good and rears just needed cleaning and adjustment.
