My problem is not with the up and down position, my problem is that i need my hood to come forward more. I've tried loosening the bolts and pulling it forward and then re tightening, but it doesn't really work.

I believe it's the drivers side that the hood is closer to the headlight then the pass side. It is a lateral deal here; cant really be adjusted. I thought my truck was defective or somthing until I looked at others on the lot. You can easily check this by the space on top of your headlights. The drivers side is smaller then the passenger side. It's just a hood fit problem that was never addressed from the factory.

My truck is like this, except my hood is closer to the head light on the pass. side.

So glad I found this, I freakin love forums, saved me money almost every time. My hood wouldn't pop up anymore, I thought the cable or the latch was broken, turns out not enough tension on the latch spring so I made a slight adjustment as mentioned above and works like it should now. Thanks! I'm sure the dealer would have told me some BS story of how the latch mechanism was busted and needed to be replaced and charged me hundreds of dollars!

Funny how that works. When I had a fan blade problem I took it to toyota to see what the problem is. They charged me 200 just to look at it and they said they couldn't find anything wrong so they would have to start taking things apart which would be "costly". So I posted a thread about my problem an got the info I needed and fixed it my self for free. I love this website!

what if it isn't aligned properly near the windshield? how do you adjust that? my passengers side near the windshield is 1 mm lower than the drivers side.
