I bought a blank on eBay for 5 bucks. It would unsnap so you could run a wire and snap it back together.

It's been about a year since I bought mine. Perhaps they aren't available anymore. I'll keep an eye out

I've had great success in several of my extended family's Toyotas using ML. As I close in on 100k miles on the Taco I plan to switch over to ML....along with a pan drop and filter change. I do a suck and fill on the power steering fluid with ML at every oil change.

I also use it in my Daughter's old Yaris.

We have extended family with an '03 Camry with 190k miles and an '04 Sienna with 160k miles...both running great and shifting smooth. Both have been on ML for years.

I bought my daughter's '10 Yaris a couple of years ago with 126k on the clock. One of the 1st things I did was service the tranny with ML. Shifts flawlessly

A great idea on annual DAF! How many miles do you drive annually?

I know this has been said on this post atleast 8 buzillion times but even though I ABSALUTLEY love my Tacoma the assholes at Toyota saying you “”NEVER”” have to service your transmission because it’s “sealed” (are you kidding me?) is just another way for them to misinform the public on something that ABSALUTLEY has to be done in my opinion no later than 60K miles (probably 50K being realistic) and have a way to eventually charge Tacoma owners for a brand new transmission somewhere down the road when it falls out like a giant turd from no maintenance. Don’t listen to anyone EVER that tells you to not service something on your vehicle because every part of it eventually will fail if you don’t take care of it. I changed my fluid for the first time this past weekend on my 2011 V-6 and when I took out the drain plug (AFTER I MADE SURE I COULD GET THE FILL PLUG OUT FIRST) the tranny fluid that cane out literally scared me and made me double check my work and make sure I wasn’t accidentally changing the engine oil because it was ABSALUTLEY black and smelled like hell. Anyway take care of your Tacoma and you won’t be left stranded especially if you’re like me and you live in a REALLY hot climate like Vegas... One more thing to ALSO add, Dont bother paying the clowns at Toyota $13.00 per quart for the transmission fluid (you’ll need 12 quarts to do it correctly also) and go to eBay believe it or not and buy yourself 12 quarts for $99.00 in an unopened box because Toyota will have ZERO problems raping you for their fluid. Just my .02 cents. Take care all and cheers!!

Just did my DAF times 4 plus Lubeguard Premium and Lube guard shudder fix using the procedure in this thread and it worked out great. Did successful fluid level check and shudder is now gone.

I do believe that the transmissions need to be regularly serviced. I've done several DAFs over the years. But at the same time there are also countless Tacomas running around with 200k+ miles on the original fluid. So who knows? Personally, I feel better doing it.

I don't believe that it's some sort of conspiracy on Toyota's part to have your transmission fail early though.
