how to equip this to tow a trailer?

    I am going to be purchasing a motorcycle. I plan on renting a motorcycle trailer from UHaul and towing it with my 95 Tacoma, extended cab, RWD, 2.4 liter. I've no no experience with towing. I'm trying to figure out what I will need in order to hook up the trailer.

    I tried getting one of this ball hitch mounts and putting in the hole pictured but it wouldn't go all the way through to the other end in order to screw it in place.

    Please advise.

    I would suggest a bolt on receiver hitch.

    I assume there is a place underneath the bumper where the receiver hitch can be attached to? I will go look now.

    You can get tow balls in a long shank version: http://www.etrailer.com/Balls/Hidden-Hitch/63849.html

    Make sure you check what size ball the trailer you will be using has. There are 4 common US sizes. Most likely it will be a 2" ball.

    You won't find the long shaft tow balls for sale locally, they are an uncommon item. If you are hauling a lightweight motorcycle trailer a short distance only, I would say this is acceptable, but like the others said, I really suggest you get a true receiver hitch installed.
