did some searching around and couldn't find a write up...

Im looking to install the toytec top plate 1/4" spacer which do not require longer studs...

Anyone have instructions or pics of the install process....

Never done this install before, but from what I gather:

    -jack up truck
    -unbolt bottom of shock/strut
-lower the strut enough to pop the toytec top plate spacer in and revolt shock...

am I missing something- do you have to disconnect sway bar or compress the springs.....???

    thanks

Did you ever do this install? Attempting myself tomorrow and would prefer not die with a coil spring flying out at my face. Not really planning on going out like that.

i installed the 1/2" spacer which required longer studs, and now my truck rides like shit. Lesson learned and can't wait to get my lift. But then again my suspension is pretty much shot at this point.

To answer your question, you don't remove the nut at the top if you aren't installing longer studs. Just pull the shock out, slide the spacer over the bolts on the top hat, and bolt back in place. May need an alignment though.

I'm going with OME and LS UCA's. Keep in mind though that my suspension has close to 80k on it so it was sagging a bit lol. Adding the spacer was just a temporary fix until I had money for the lift.
