I'm getting ready to do this install on my truck as well... do you guys have any problems with the crawl control panel on the ceiling vibrating? Mines an 18' with 1k miles on it, and the stock speakers alone make a really annoying vibration from this area.

I don't. Have you removed it before? Maybe a clip is missing or loose?

How important is it to disconnect the battery?

I'd like to skip that part.

Messing with disconnecting the battery just makes me nervous. I don't think it's required for speakers. Dunno for sure though.

Nope, never touched it. I guess ill pop it off and see it theres and area behind it to put dynamat or something to reduce the vibration.

Is your traction control button on the left side up there? If so, on the other side across from it I have just a little plastic cover covering the hole for a blank switch and that little cover rattles

Idk if its required but I did the speakers almost 1 at a time because of time restraints so i disconnected and reconnected the battery 3 times and nothing happens except the climate control reset to 72 degrees every time lol. Saved my time settings and my radio presets and everything else.

Past experience has shown me that factory head units don't have enough power to drive aftermarket speakers at high volume. Maybe I didn't do a good job matching up speakers to the specs of the h/u. How does this specific upgrade sound at high volume?

Can you tell a difference from adding the sound deadening material? If I were to add this to the stock speaker set up throughout would I notice a real difference?

How loud do you need it to be? Half volume is more than loud enough with better clarity than I had with the factory speakers at 3/4 full volume.

If you're trying to provide music to a tailgate party then consider something else. If you want a nice sounding system on the interstate for less than $250 that's plug and play then this is a very good choice.

To answer all the folks concerned about the factory headunit output, I would agree with @jsinnard

The speakers + the factory entune headunit make a really solid, adequately powered, extremely clear system. If you are looking for the top tier audiophile experience you won't be able to achieve that with only a speaker upgrade, and no complimenting power modifications. This system will however (in my opinion) satisfy the majority of people looking for a good sound system in their car. Not once since installing this have I felt like the headunit was struggling to output the sound I wanted, nor have I felt like this system was missing anything.

    Hope that helps!

Thanks for the follow up. I am no audiophile. I like my music loud though. I think the factory head unit provides me with the volume but was wanting a little more range from the speakers. I have installed plenty of car audio systems in many of the vehicles I have owned and for friends and family. The question was more about expecting to be able to turn it up to 50 like i do now but concerned the sound would fall apart with the suggested speaker upgrade. Distortion and I don't get along.
