I did the same thing. It’s sitting in a cup holder. I hope you (we) get a response.

So you put the door back together and don’t notice anything missing yet? I guess I’ll have to do that.

I didn’t notice it until after I had the door back together. I have noticed any unusual noises but obviously I’d prefer to get it back in it’s correct position.

That part goes on the top back edge of the door panel. The part that your elbow sits on when your arm is out the window. Someone will come along with a picture.

It goes on the back side of the window opening in the door. I did the same thing. With the door panel off, go to the back side of the window frame and it sits in the opening where the glass slides up through the door frame. Don't have a pick though.

Alright, all six speakers replaced. Suburu tweeters and Kickers in the doors. Not sure what the acoustically-perfect song to test them so I went with “Anthem” by Rush. Wow! Front door slams into my left calf now. Pretty cheap and relatively easy upgrade. I love it so far!

Me too! Looking for a compact but powerful enough amp to get the best of my speakers without rattling the mirrors and doors

Thanks to the OP for the inspiration! Kickers for the doors (from Crutchfield.com) installed today. Just waiting for the Subaru tweets...

My favorite test song is Fire Woman by The Cult. My Kickers love it. Play it loud!

Console safe, painted rear bumpers, black grill trim, bed lights, trd air intake, trd oil cap, trd radiator cap, Rigid trd fog lights, trd cat back exhaust, swapped carmel door/dash accents w red, JBL GTO 6.5” separates front w TacoTunes mounts, JBL GTO 6.5” coax rear w TacoTunes mounts, trd shift knob, TacoTunes 5 channel amp, JL Audio Stealthbox sub.
I installed aftermarket JBL GTO 6.5 separates up front using “...cotunes” door/tweeter adapters and harnesses (guess they don’t want the name posted here because of members bad experience with company, my experience was fine). Installed JBL GTO 6.5 coax with same company adapters rear. Modified the “...cotunes” door adapter/harness to get more factory look. Sounds great but needs amplifier and sub which are next on list.

Totally understandable but you can get speakers that run fine on lower wattage, most run decent from 5w and up...unless SPL is required, then amps will be a must.

Hello all. I've started this upgrade. I've got the dash tweeters in, and I did the rear doors this past Saturday. I went with Kenwood 6 3/4" speakers from Crutchfield there but am using the Kicker 6x9s in the front doors. I plan to do the fronts this Saturday. I experienced the same Metra mounting adapter issues as some of the others - all the holes don't line up. Drilled some new ones - no problem. Easy fix.

I did have 2 major problems- 1) Thought I was gonna have to use dynamite to get the rear door panels off, but finally got em off. 2) I cannot get them to go back on as flush as they were from factory nor can I get them to line up. Pics show the issue.

Has anyone else had trouble getting the door panels back on? The main problem seems to be the top inside corner on each door. Right now, they look like crap. I've taken them off and re-installed multiple times trying to get them on right but am striking out. I'm afraid that if I keep pulling them off and re-installing, they're eventually not gonna stay on tight. Looking for suggestions. Help?!?

I keep wondering if I'm gonna have to take it to dealer to get them to re-install them correctly. It's got me nervous about trying the front speaker installation this weekend.

Before pressing the clips/ tabs back in place, try gently pressing the top of the panel against the window and then slide the whole thing down. It's hard to explain, but you should feel it catch and not let you slide down any further. Once it is seated you can go around the panel and snap each clip in place.
