Don't let the size get to you. Every chance I can when I am home on leave I steal Dad's keys and find a field, some dirt to play in, nothing beats it from the creature comforts to just the performance / thrill of driving one. I would do yourself a favor and at least test drive one, it blows the socks off any Tacoma, especially coming from an M4 like you are, I bet you'll feel more at home. Just my 2 cents. Good luck.

Okay, since you opened that door: what exactly about getting a Pro is about needs?

Sorry, don’t mean to be a hardass. But I looked at Pro before buying an Off-Road: I didn’t see enough substance there to be as special as dealers make it out to be.

IMHO, Pro is too high on sho and not enough on go.

Not to mention that exclusive color has a history of making it onto every other trim the following year.

Not quite, something about the 2017 cement gray pro made me almost pay 48k for a used one. I guess I'm now a fan boy of the Tacoma aesthetic and I want the pro because knowing myself It would bother me settling anything less than a pro
Great points and others chiming in helping out too before I rip myself off lol. But I think everybody is confusing that I'm trying to fill a void for my m4 which is not the case. Apples to oranges, I m actually going to get into a 2021 m4 lease when the new gen releases. That being said, I will never denie a Raptors performance as I have experienced first hand a truck keeping up with a performance coupe. I live in socal so having a big truck as a daily is a drag and I dont really do construction. I know I'm going to continue getting flamed for wanting a pro... but am I crazy enough to pay extra for some flashy pro badges? At this point yes. I dont want to buy a OR and try to make it into a pro, is too much work and knowing myself I would not be satisfied. And to be honest, the army green is cool but that cement gray.......................................................

Hey I am in LA also, and I was dead set on a cement gray Pro. I ended up finding a 2017 in Dallas that I really liked, negotiated them down to 37.2k, flew out there and drove it back. Took two short days. Not sure if you had given that route any thought, but theres a suggestion for you.

Seems to be more room for negotiation on Pro's out of state, and the salesmen i dealt with were much better also.

I think the Pro is fairly priced considering it comes standard with leather, sunroof, Fox suspension, 1” lift, heated seats, TRD wheels, etc.

$48k for a used pro is just plain stupid dude. You could buy a cement OR and build a pro clone for less. Sorry just have to say it.

Nothing wrong with wanting a Pro especially since it sounds like you are being honest about what it essentially is "pay extra for flashy pro badges".

It does sound like you really want Cement and I will say again buy a 2020 Cement, throw wheels, skewp, etc. on it and call it a day, as it sounds like Army Green is your 2nd choice. Or make a road trip, this one has been sitting at a dealer down the road from me for months, way cheaper than $48k. I've had 8 Tacoma's trust me and go with what you want the first time around.

Lol, an access cab with a MT. I'd walk to Texas and buy a Pro before that thing.

JFC it’s a 17 Cement TRD PRO, you know what OP really wanted, just Honda dealer listing it wrong. Maybe try actually looking at the pictures/truck first...C for effort though.

My bad but if he's a Honda dealer and listed it wrong I'm not buying from him. Add to that it was probably traded in and I'm running from it. But hey maybe the pictures are wrong.

I found one in mission hills and one in napa California, both 40,900. Miles range from 31k and 26k I believe. I checked out the one in mission hills, although it's not ready and going thru safety inspection, insides are trashed and dings and tents. All in all out the door came to 46k. If I can get msrp on a 2020 I rather pay 51 52 out the door and get brand new with upgraded tech. But yes I have became a sucker for the cement, and if that pro was cleaned up yesterday I would of honestly just bough it.

I wish I had money to throw away like that. I could see a new PRO but paying that much for a used one is like burning money. Hey but you do you, your money. I would keep looking for what sounds like you what you really want, a 17 Cement pro. Good luck and welcome to TW.

OP, it sounds like you can afford to get what you want. Get what you want and don’t look back. The 2020 Green Pro looks awesome, it will have great resale. I wish I could afford to get a turn- key great Offroad rig. It’s nice not to “settle “ on a purchase.

I just want to thank everyone chiming in with support and the guidance. My mind is made up that I will be purchasing a 2020 army green trd pro. It was never my intention to come here and flaunt my financial abilities.... as I believe anyone can afford a mid 40k vehicle if so they choose too. With that being said, if you have any clue or ways to obtain a 2020 army green pro at msrp preferably around California I would appreciate those information...

Lol, most of us here have mid 40k trucks bud, more so with mods, etc. I think the $50k+ idea of a pro or $48k for a used one seems fiscally frivolous to a lot of us is all. Good luck in your search.

It’s only money, make more everyday. Get what ya want. I got one brand new under msrp but it’s not the norm. Don’t miss my modded up 2nd gen one bit. My Pro is turn key and done. Moneys made every day, time isn’t. I have better things to do then mod the truck like I did when I was younger. Order exactly what ya want and enjoy it!

Sameness. Spent tons of hours in the driveway lifting and modding my 11 and 15, finally just paid a few hundred more and had the dealer throw on lift and tires this time, no more busted knuckles and and aching back next day, lol.

Longo Toyota was the only place I could find in Southern California for MSRP. They do have a list but if you show that you have cash and are ready to buy you can avoid the list. I was not on the list and told the salesman I was ready to buy cash. Someone passed on a black 2018 pro and I got the call. I did have to take it with the add-ons but that's not a big deal when you are already spending 45k on a truck. You could also just take them off new and make most of it back selling them here or locally. I also wanted something that I did not have to mod to make it how I wanted it. I've done that every time before and just wanted the simplicity of a turnkey all purpose truck. Plus I already have another vehicle that i wrench on to scratch the modify itch.
