Hey I'm just curious and it may have already been answered in this thread, did a search in the thread but didn't find it, but where is the brake shield. I have one behind the hub, do yall take it out or do some 4x4's come without?

Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
The dust shield is sandwiched between the hub and spindle. The 4 bolts that hold the hub pass through the shield into the spindle. Hope that helps and isn't too late.

Isn't there supposed to be a dust seal in there? Between the bearing and hub.

I'm pretty sure this is incorrect. 710573 is the seal that sits in the knuckle or spindle.

Does anyone know the number for the seal that sits on the CV and mates to the spindle seal?

I just noticed the OP does not have the inner rotor shields.

I should have left mine off. Put my passenger side hub on. Everything torqued ready to go then saw I left the shield off. Had to take it all apart.

And negatives about leaving the shields off? Just there to keep little rocks out I think.

That's the way I bought it, it's never bothered the way it handles. I don't off-road every week either, but I have had small rocks caught in between the rotor shield on the other side.

What are the torque specs on the actual hub? 4 bolts? Saw the cv nut is 173.

How often is the inner dust seal torn/ripped?

Yup. I left those on because I wasn't able to find those in town at the time, but I'm sure you can get those from local seal and bearing places or even your local auto parts stores.

Other than the seal that goes into the diff are these the only seals needed?

Yup that's it. There is a seal that's supposed to be in between the hub and the bearings pressed in already if you get the bearing assembly from either bamatoy or nj, otherwise, if you do take Your old bearing off to be pressed in separately, you would need another seal which I don't have that part number. It's been a while since I've updated this thread, but I'll try and get to it some time today if not tomorrow.

I got the assembly from Bamatoy and bought the seal too. So to put that seal in I have to take the CV out and replace it where the CV goes into the diff correct? Just trying to find out what steps I need to do to put the new seal in with the assembly. Any help would be great. Thanks.
