How do you take out the front plastic grille? Also specifically how do you remove the plastic clips holding it in? I already broke one in a million pieces trying to get it out, and I stopped before I broke any more

hmmm... If the clips are the same on the 96 as my 02, then you just press down on a little tab that sticks out and then it slides out... but lots of people (me included) break lots of them and have to buy more from Toyota.

you have to sort of push the tab down and pull on the grille so it comes out of the hole. they might be breaking cuz they are old

Remove the accent peices below the grille
    Remove your corner lights
Then open your hood and use a flat head screwdriver to push down the tabs and slightly pull the grille towards you as each tab releases.

    I used zip ties too.

I just broke all the clips intentionally to get the grill off (a few were missing, and it wasn't worth it IMO to try to save the ones that were not broken).

The zip ties work the same as the clips, cheaper, easier, and if you ever need to remove the grill again just cut the zip ties.

    :notsure:

The zip ties are molded plastic just like the grille clips :D...and actually hold the grill more secure because you can snug them up till there is no play.

If you want to pay the price for some overpriced clips..more power to you :p

alright but its a freakin zip tie! thats been the symbol of make-shift diy fixes for ages. I cant bring myself to hold my truck together with zip ties. ill gladly pay 10 bucks if it means none of my truck is being held together with zip ties haha.

I actually hold zip ties in pretty high regard...some advanced shit right there... :D

Much better then duct tape :D

I was hesitant to not buy the new clips and use zip ties too...but you cannot even see them when everything is installed. so....
