Make sure you are on perfectly level ground and make sure the front tires are perfectly straight

I'll keep trying when i get time maybe tomorrow, a bobby pin works good BTW.
...I'd drive thru a windy stretch of road in Western NC next to my house, VSC would kick in-pull off at a church parking lot reset again and drive again/ reset/ drive again. Very frustrating so i said Eff it and pulled fuse. Like i said i'll try it again AND AGAIN, but dont know if its the 285-70-17 tire rubbing issue as well or what, but i kinda like the way it drives like an old school truck does (haul ass/squeal tires/ donuts in mud) until i actually need 4WD etc. since i pulled the fuse!

Any reason why the airbag light would come on after doing the VSC reset?

FINALLY!!!, I haven't been on Tacomworld for a while but have been waiting for a fix for this FOREVER. After I get my truck back from a couple fixes, one that would cause the VSC to turn off I just never felt like getting it fixed so I had been driving around with my check engine light on for about the pas couple years... (I'm not proud of that). I'll report back when I can give this a try. Mine started acting up after I did a Long Travel upgrade to my Taco.

Sweet it worked. Light came on a few weeks ago after a hard hit on the passenger side that bent the spindle and lower control arm.

Just adding taller tires required this.

Calibrating VSC . Using twist tie, couldn't find paper clip.... guess thing of past in this household, sign of the times.... Thanks @Crom !!!!![IMG]

I used a twist tie also for the same reason ... no paper clips around the house.

A thicker wire, aka clip or say 14ga solid core would have been.easier for those looking to do this. Easier because can maintain u shape, and sticks better in slot.

Ha, I ended up using this Xmas decoration wire I found lying around in my ex wife house. The twist tie was too springy.

My VSC light stayed on after the procedure, so I went through the steps again, this time very carefully. I used an alligator clip jumper wire. I cut it in half and stripped a half inch off, then taped the ends into/onto the slots to make sure they didn't lose contact during the process. This made it easier to observe the dashboard. Now the VSC light is no longer on. Success!! I think before I jostled the truck or it wasn't perfectly level, or one of my connections at the OBD wasnt good. Either way, it appears to have worked this time.:):):)20180213_172326.jpg 20180213_172932.jpg
