I believe the VHT stuff doesn't require a primer. That's what I'm using, rated to 2000 degrees.

What do you guys think about painting the spring and plunger too? Ant said it's a good idea because you can see that stuff through the lens and I agree - I think I'm gonna tape off the sides of the solenoid, paint the front and the spring and plunger and maybe activate it a few times while the paint is drying to prevent sticking. very light coats of course

You only see it at certain angles. Paint flakes from the moving spring and plunger could cause your beams to stick. I do not advise.

True. Maybe I'll paint a piece of foil and put it on the front of the solenoid

yeah im definitely gonna cut/resplice and use the existing holes in the shroud, use some heat shrink to make the exposed part black to match.

painting the shields voids the warranty so im a little nervous to do it

Agreed. I think the red will look really good, at least in my case. The TRD center caps on my wheels have a red logo so it will match

I may scratch the demon eye with red and have a black look. Idk what to decide.

Hey fellas, How are you guys splitting the headlights open?
When i use a screw driver, i often ding up the plastic housing around it.....
Trying to figure out a way to open it without making it all ugly

You can bake them or use a heat gun. I'm going to use a heat gun since I don't have acess to an oven.

    How do you cook...

Heat gun works too, I found 12 mins at 275 was perfect

Anything that can be cooked in a microwave or sandwiches... Live in a dorm room on an AFB and work odd hours that don't allow me to use the cafeteria on base.

The heat gun I'm looking at only has a lowest setting of 500... Maybe I'll have to find one with more settings...
