You shouldn't have to solder anything for the halos...?

BTW I was thinking of getting an 80mm light diffiuser and VHT'ing it to hide the halos. Will post results when i get off my lazy ass and order them

Ah I should have posted this before with my pics, but theres a really easy way to disconnect the wires from the harness, no cutting required... just use tweezers and press the metal pin to disengage a clip thing, youll see how it works

    too late tho

No those would have been to large for the holes I drilled. Its no biggie. I like how they turn out so far

One ground is directly to the battery and the other is under one of the little rubber pieces for the hood. As long as you sand down to bare metal you'll be fine no matter where you put your ground. Have had mine for over a year and haven't experienced a single issue from my grounds. My ballast are just sitting in the engine this weekend I'm gonna mount them though

So after finally received my RIGHT Apollo Shroud from TRS, I played with the stuff a little.
And notice they gave me some bad quality shrouds, now i am emailing TRS once again about the shrouds.

And on top of that, the previous Halos i ordered, i asked them what size i need for the inside of Apollo Shroud, they recommended me the size 90 Halos.
I tried placing my halo inside the shroud, and it turns out the Halos are too small for the inside.

So i am thinking the size 90 is for outside mounting, however i know i won't do a good job at mounting it outside, that is why i opted for INSIDE instead.

    More waiting games AGAIN!!!

I don't know... I'm no confident enough lol
I took a look at TRS website for these Halos, seems like price has gone up for these bad boys.
Also did they get a redesign? My halos have the wires on the bottom of the halo.
The ones from their website have a little notch sticking out with the wires attached?

Mine were on the bottom as well. I also drilled holes for the wires as well so they didn't go on the outside of the shroud. 7yvy4eba_4d9b9f2d24692e5576600ede9ee5befbc7f71433.jpg

OP: I've been following your post as I prep to do my FX-R retro today. Two questions: 1) I saw aluminum tape in your parts list but missed where you used it? 2) how did you seal up the rear of the housing? Did you just use a bunch of JB weld?

I did that method. For large gaps from the reflector to the projector and then cover the aluminum tape in jb weldugyja7e6_19414204e92797e7751416ae3ca3ac34c7e5de13.jpg

The only place I actually used a small gum-stick sized piece was over where the front of the projector bolts to the back and leaves a little vent slit. I didn't want to get Jb weld in there. But Yes I just JB welded everywhere the projector met the reflector on the back

Started working on my FX-Rs last night. Have one ready to mount and get aligned. I will probably start the other side tonight.
