Hey guys, just got my shipment in today. midland 1001z cb with a magnetic mount antenna. I'm trying to do everything as simple as i can, and not drill holes. I will do a permanent install when i get my tool box and 2 firestick antennas. but I was trying to figure out how to run my coaxial cable without tearing anything up. I would like to mount my antenna on my roof. I saw some people go thorugh the third brake light, but how the hell do you do that?! I figure there would be watertightness issues with such an install. I would like to go out of the back of the cab, but have no clue how to. Not sure if i have enough wire to run through fire wall and all the way under my truck either. any help would be greatly appreciated

if it's just temporary, there is a gromet on either side at the back of the cab, pop out the rubber, cut a few slits in it and run the coax through there. then the sable will just go up betweem the cab and bed and up to the roof. 3rd brake light would work too but it's gona be a lot more work.

I'm not sure about the double cab, but in my ext cab I ran the wire under the carpet, drilled a hole in the metal that holds the ext cab seats, then to the gromet, your gona have to take a look and find it

found it! at first i though it was that plastic grille looking thing, so i removed the seatbelt and side panel to access it. could not. so then i saw a plastic cap on the floor, that was not it. but then i found it directly behind the carpet on the back wall about an inch up from the floor. thanks for all the help guys, installed the antenna and getttin good reception, will post pics soon
