    Sadly, not much.
I used this write up, thank you! my plugs seemed really bad. Previous owner replaced 31k ago. Hopefully, there isn’t a bigger issue here!

again, thanks for the right up, saved me a few bucks:)

I have had the parts and tools for about 6 months. Took a government lock-down to find the time.

Thanks to instructions it was a piece of cake. Knuckle-buster though.

Worst one gapped at .075 no wonder I get 13 mpg in this hog.

Yet another rep for this thread. Replaced at 30k, w/ engine at 90k miles. Easy and took an hour. Thanks to all!

The front two plugs have darker threads than the rest. And the back two plugs have grayer tips than the rest. Normal?

The Denso plug still the go to plug for these motors? I’m about to confirm my AAP order for them and wanted to be sure nothing better was suggested in previous pages

Just put in a full set of Denso, iridiums in my 4.0L. They came pre-gapped. I checked them with a gauge and they were spot-on! I also used this thread as a guide, thanks OP and all who contributed!!!:hattip::thumbsup:

Finally got around to changing these out, thanks to this write up! Should I be concerned about the plug circled?

I would just be happy that you were able to get them out. How old are they?

Finally checked and I went from 13mpg to 16mpg. Still have my foot in it everywhere. The plugs had never been changed 120k. Noticeable highway difference in effort\smoothness. The gaps on the old plugs were insane.

Mine were dark at 120k, but yours have been changed before as they are all the same brand. Maybe someone put too much gunk on them. Most of the black is on the exterior :notsure:

That is what I was thinking as well. The tips themselves are fine, just really worn down. I guess it would be more concerning if the tip looked like that as well. Truck has felt great though. Much smoother like you mentioned

I realize this thread has some age, but it should be said, some spark plug manufacturers coat their threads with a "sacrificial" alloy that gives itself up so that you don't need antiseize goop down in your motor. NGK does this, don't know about Denso.

Thanks for taking the time to do this write up. This was the easiest spark plug change I've ever done.

I couldn’t find whether Denso puts a coating on their threads, but on the Denso site under installation, it says the following in reference to anti-seize:

“If you apply grease or another screw thread lubricant to the threaded part of the plug, you are liable to tighten the plug to an excessive degree, impairing the integrity of the seal, even if you apply no more than the recommended torque. For this reason, do not coat the plug with screw thread lubricant.”

just to confirm, the procedure listed on page one will work for for the 4.0 v6 in 2nd gens as well? I see that was for a 1st gen v6.

also, the NGKs for the 2014 V6 come gapped at .044...best i can find thats factory, do you recommend going .041-.043 or is that 1st gen data?
