Full Disclosure - she is my fiancé. :) But she hasn't seen me obsessing over a new car before.

Again sliders wont help with a truck or SUV.

Newbie here - what are "sliders" used for, duck feet steps? Crawling between boulders? Just curious because my new taco has heavy steps and I'm not sure I like them, but if they stop some door dings I think I do like them...

Not against trucks and SUVs which doors sit higher than sliders, even if your truck is lifted, rear doors are even angled to really ruin your day.

Little tree air fresheners. Clazzio black leather seat covers.
Other then sliders and parking way back away from everything there isn't a key way to prevent it. There will always be that jackass person that WILL ding your truck. A nice Gerber hatchet helps relieve a little bit of anger into the opposing persons door?

I gusss it depends on how high your/their truck is. Mine is pretty high up, so only a big lifted truck would go above my sliders.

Maybe for the front doors. But the rear on the soccer mom mobile and kids getting out still leaves the potential even with sliders...

Sliders are to protect your rocker panels when in real gnarly rocky terrain. You can also use them as a lift point for a high lift jack for changing a flat tire on the trail.

Nerf bars, running boards or whatever you want to call them, are more for driver and passenger mounting convenience. They won't help as much on the trail.

Get sliders, park away from everyone, and try not to stress out, it's not worth it.

Wait until you accidentally back into a trash can or clip your mirrors going into your own garage. It'll happen sooner or later. :D

Sheet metal of the door is thin and easy for a hatchet to go through it haha. In all honesty just park far and out of the way if you don't want door dings. But it will happen unfortunately.
