When I did mine, Crutchfield had a "buy one set, get %50 off a second set" sale on Kickers. I think I was all-in (including the subaru tweeters) for under $250

I highly recommend this tweeter upgrade. I just did it. Takes 20 minutes and your sound is greatly improved. Thanks for the write up.

Same here!! I scored a set of Subaru tweeter on ebay. They sound great!! Only problem... I want to upgrade the front and rear door speakers with a simple "plug-in" option.

Crutchfield gives you adapters and wires so it pretty much is plug and play for the doors.

I did the Subaru Tweeters and the Kicker Door Speakers along with some Noico sound deadening and the results are pretty impressive for the small amount of cash spent.

Powerbass and Focal both make plug and play options for the front, and powerbass does for the rear as well.

So....no need to upgrade tweets if you have the JBL system?

Bam auto has them. Won’t let me post a link.

So why won't this work with the Premium audio JBL kit again?

is there a wiring conversion for it to fit the JBL plugs? or you have to just splice the wires?

Just placed an order for tweeters and door speakers. Quite cheap tbh.

You will be pleased with the end result, throw some sound deadener in the doors while you have the door panels off too.

Oops forgot to order that, thanks for the reminder. How much do you suggest I should need?

I bought that Noico stuff off Amazon, think maybe it was 25 square feet.

    Stereo upgrades
Has anyone hooked up the tweeters to an amp? I upgraded the door speakers and the dash speakers (Subaru). Using an amp to power the door speakers using an Infinity 60 watt x 4. My dash speakers are hooked up to the factory speaker harness. I can hardly hear them.
