this is awesome, did you just get the nightshade from an auto parts store or hardware store?

also do you think if I did just one coat of the nightshade to my headlights I could get a nice smoked looked without dimming down my lights too bad?

I'm just curious to how these look with the brakes lights on. I see a lot of guys doing this and more often than not I am almost rear ending their asses because the brake lights hardly show through making the tail lights just about useless.

    Yes

I HIGHLY advise against it... I had tinted lenses on my last car and it cut light output significantly. Looked cool but I took em off

One or 2 coats don't hurt anything... The d-bags with 4+ coats are definitely asking for trouble

    Not enough.
Memario Covered it, don't do it. Although I do see people in my area with the headlights so dark that you cannot see into the housing during the day....they deserve to be smacked.
Memario got this too. There is a perfect amount that can be applied and a tragically stupid amount too. If you decide to go a little darker you can install brighter bulbs.

We did three sets this weekend and the clear coat "fogged" on us. Sure it was due to humidity here in the south. Anyone ever had them do this? Most of it faded in 24 hrs but not all. Going to be redoing mine

Just did mine yesterday with the help of fellow taco world member mrguitarguy. Took us a few hours (waiting for the coats to dry was the most time consuming) and I'm happy with the result. Unfortunately we didn't quite coat some of the edges all of the way so they are noticeable against the rest of the tail light. I plan to go over that part tomorrow, luckily it isn't too bad, just more of a pain in the ass!

Here is a pic of the final product:

Although the tail lights do look pretty dark (3 coats), the lights shine through very well both day and night.

how difficult is it to polish if your not using a buffing wheel or drill of sorts?
