I just removed mine - all four while in Moab. The freakishly long things were catching on everything. I am going to follow everyone else's lead and cut mine down. Looks like the snips are coming out to do some mud flap modding!!!! Cheers

    Lots of plans
Thanks for posting this!! Just trimmed mine down 5 inches. They were rubbing on speed bumps and steep driveways. They are great to have to protect your car from road salt etc., but the front mudflats are freaky long!!
Tin snips are the way to go.

I cut ine using a metal blade on a jigsaw. Clean cut, left just a couple burs. Shaved the edge with a utility knife, and hit it with some medium grit sand paper. Came out great. No melting or distortion. I did take the flaps off completely to do the work. Only takes a trim tool for the rivets and a phillips head. If you're lucky, the rivets won't snap and you can re-use them. If they do, AutoZone has them for about $4 for a pack.

20 mins, no science. Traced template on cardboard. R on one side, flipped it L on the other. Went around truck tracing onto the flaps with template. Cut them with 6$ ace hardware tin snips. Sanded with 600 then 320

Front bottom of flap to ground- 9 in
Rear bottom of flap to ground- 11 in

Hoping the rocks and dust polish them off further.

I wish I saw this thread earlier. I bought a used set of OEM mud flaps but quickly resold them when I realized how long the front ones were.
