You guys are both right :)

KO2s suck in slick conditions like snow and wet grass.

But also why the fuck does this truck completely kill power instead of letting it spin to get traction? How many times now I've been stuck on a slight incline in snow because of this boggles the mind.

I had a new 2012 Raptor with lots of goodies. My old tacoma is my DD but I always have a toy. Before the Raptor I had an Alumi-Craft 4 seater. I Sold the Raptor to buy a 911 Porsche Turbo. Thinking about selling the Porsche and buying a new Tacoma and putting a Total Chaos kit on it but that's about the same price all in as a new Raptor. Believe me in the sand washes and high speed "graded" roads in Baja all the fun happens with a locked rear end. I Love Tacomas but the Raptor is starting to look more attractive then I thought it would. I'm on the order list at Team Ford in Vegas but I'm number 200 on the list so I've got time to figure it out. I'd prefer a Tacoma. If someone figures out how to lock the rear in 2wd I'm all in! Hopefully ARB or someone will figure it out

    Two things...
IF the tires are spinning, you don't have traction. Either back off the gas or let air out of your tires.
To not have throttle regulation cutting the power just quickly press the VSC button for AUTO LSD (TRAC OFF). That mode allows spinning to clean out the tires of mud or snow.

I'm thinking I will put something in the back of mine ... or I might just start cutting wires and hitting it with 12 volts till I figure it out or it doesn't run. I've had a lot of experience with Raptors at other people's expense. They are cool . I mostly go down trails that Razrs go down and if a Raptor gets stuck where I go it isn't coming out very easily. I'll figure out how to lock the diff I just have not put much effort into my Tacoma because I have to much broken crap to fix already.

2016 don't. Hold the button down for 5 seconds then when you spin it's one tire. If you just press the button once it derates horsepower beeps twice hits the brakes and sticks you. Spinning is Winning. I like to throw my truck sideways and hang the ass out to lock playing Slayer and screaming curse words on my day off. I don't want my truck stealing all my fun.

I drive em all like that. Pretty sad I have to use my Bronco to pull my Taco out every time I wheel it. Oh my KO2's work as intended.

Seriously? Please double check because that is a MAJOR change:
    1)
Press quickly (do not hold in) while driving or stopped and truck goes from standard TRAC to AUTO LSD in H2 and to TRAC OFF in H4. This is traction control with the engine regulation turned OFF.

    2)
Press and hold in for 3+ seconds while stopped and truck goes into VSC OFF (no trac or vsc) in both H2 and H4.

Theoretically that may be correct. My truck derates power no matter what. The traction control and VSC comes back at 25 mph . I play in the sand and I play on logging roads. If I thought going 25 mph was fun I would ride a shopping kart down the North Bend Bridge with an ACME Rocket duct taped to my back .

Traction control is on, not off unless you hold in the button for 3+ seconds while stopped. This is called VSC OFF mode.

TRAC mode has engine regulation. I call it 'Limited Slip Lite'.

When you are in TRAC OFF or AUTO LSD mode (both are forms of traction control without engine regulation or 'Limited Slip Strong') only the VSC stability control is off to 30 mph then comes on.

Everything you said might be true. I want one switch. On / Off not hold and guess . I want to disable everything , airbags, VSC , anti lock , everything. I want another switch On / Off that locks the diff anytime I want . Then I will have control. I want to trail brake and put this turd into a slide down shift it then shift back up right before the limiter and rotate the thing around turns with the stereo full blast while my passenger Snapchats and spills Starbucks on herself. I don't want to roll my truck because the computer decides I was being naughty .

In my 2012 Raptor the locked rear end would auto unlock above 30 mph unless you pushed Offroad mode, then she stayed locked up all the time. 75 mph and sideways leaving a dust trail like a contrail behind a fighter jet, that's what makes me giggle. Please Toyota Engineers stop trying to be my mommy, off road is for doing stuff that you shouldn't do on public roads.

Stop, press, hold in the button until the VSC OFF light comes on... about 3 long seconds. That makes the truck like pre-2009, and too sad that you can't adjust to the technology. My previous two Tacomas had nothing more than 4WD and the locker. I did comparisons of all the new traction features of my 2010 and was amazed that I could do far more with ease because of the limited slip in H4 and A-TRAC in L4.

I want to adjust, I'm trying to adjust. So if I push the button can I have a locked rear end in 2 wheel drive with no nannies or not?

I have posted so many times, as have others...

In 2WD, a quick press of the VSC button for AUTO LSD if you need more 'energy' to the back tires. If you need more traction then rotate the dial to H4, that is what it is there for. You don't need the rear locked unless you get stuck, and if you do, rotate to L4 and lock the rear. However, in L4 you should have the A-TRAC on (MTS) and I doubt you will get stuck.
