mine makes a horrible sound when slipping, kind of like when the abs makes that noice amplified 10 times, my kids where like WTF?
my fj had that traction as well but it didn't sound this bad, any body else?
also on my fj cruiser you had to go under the hood and unplug it in order to completely shut it off.

Seems like it wouldn't be too hard to fab up an auto trac off mod similar to the the auto ECT mod the ATs have.

there was a connector by the firewall, just unplug it and the traction was completely off. plug it back and it was normal.

Waiting for the late night snow falls for Trac off long hold mod in 4hi. Manual truck 4x4 drifts are super fun! Haha

The 2022 Tacoma TRD Off-Road has got me re-thinking why did I buy this! And for all the reasons everyone has listed here. I will try the TRAC turn off, but this little safety feature has put me in harm's way more than it has helping. Almost head on twice now! In this one particular S corner it has a downward dip and going left to right the truck must think your out of control or something because it locks up trying to correct something that does not need correcting. When it locks it pulls the truck that is turning right in the S corner to the left into the other lane of traffic! Tell you what, don't buy this truck. Find something better

Great first post, welcome and thanks for contributing!
Did you take to the dealer? You should, that’s not right, mine has never done that, and I’ve read very few complaints,,, only folks I’ve heard complain are anti tech and still have a potato clock and flip phone.

It did go to the dealership, and they could not find anything in the scan. It happens over and over in this one particular corner (so far only the one spot). It's the strangest thing and uncomfortable as hell. Makes driving this feel unsafe. I'd hate to be on a mountain road, and something trigger the same event.

What setting do you prefer on MTS for snow? There is no snow mode. I usually use the sand one.

You have an issue with VSC, not traction control. Truck stock? Tried the corner with long press and VSC off?
