I'm trying to do the same too. But I'm thinking I'd just want a relay and a switch (without tapping into the reverse) so I can just manually turn it on/off. The camera will be in the back, is there any good place to tap there? That way I only need to run the video line over the length of the truck, rather than video+power.

Anther thing I'm considering is mounting the camera to the red light right on the back (top) of the cabin, that way I can see if the rear wheel wells will clear my garage as I pull in. Is there any convenient place to tap for power in that area or in the cabin?

Yes this is 3 years old. But where did you tap into for the camera itself? Just into the reverse lights?
