Been lurking for quite some time. I have had Toyotas for a long long time. Only truck I trust. Current Taco is a 2017 TRD Sport. Blue!

Residing in Tennessee and loving it. I love the mountains. Disbaled Veteran, Semper Fi! Getting ready to buy a camper and travel the country. From Florida (Visiting the grandkids) all the way to Alaska. Wife and I are ready for one last adventure. Hobbies include guns and shooting, Ham Radio, and various other projects.

I have been lurking in the towing threads as well as some of the suspension threads. Trying to decide how heavy a camper I can pull comfortably all the way to Alaska.

Glad to join another great forum!

Yeah that was the day we brought it home. We added some lights and other items. I added a second battery, also briought a second fuse panel into the toolbox of topper. Added relays for all the lights as well as a port for external 12 Volt power and a 3000 watt inverter for AC. Been a great topper but now all that work is for naught. I have to take it off so I can get my mobility scooter into it. Sucks getting old.

I think I will add the roof racks and a basket and attach the lights there. I like being able to see at night.

The topper was on a 2nd gen 2015 so I had to modify the rear door by cutting 1/2 inch off to fit the 3rd gen. Added some foam and it has worked for last 18 months with no leaks! Best thing is if it needs to go back to a 2nd Gen just add a weatherstrip on bottom and it is good to go.

I am hating life. Now i have to take the dang topper off. It will not work with the Crane and hoist they are installing for my Mobility scooter. This bites! After all that work!

Yeah Even the new scooter is very close to the color! I had thought of getting the topper painted to match but now I am glad I did not. Now I have to think about a roof rack so I have somewhere to put the lights! I just drove to cleveland and back and missed them when I needed them.

As i am going to be towing a camper I can't. I wish i could. I have a tux for it as well and even it won't work. Guess I am going to a tool Box. I thought about mounting a set of lights on a tool box with a remote for turning them.....Still considering that one.

So can you mount something to the back bumper of your camper ? Maybe.
