100% Certain! Told you there were some head scratchers in here. It's worth a write-up on it's own.

So is everything considered "low" octane?

Exactly, and the resolution increase is basically only reserved for the VVTi map. I thought we were told by someone that the others were expanded as well?

The low octane is, but that's just dumbfounding.

I am actually VERY surprised at the amount of timing they have in the tunes. I thought I had "a lot" in my turbo tune. Not after seeing those numbers. I am waaaaay safer, with a block over built by the Gods, compared to the OEM components.

Toyota's logic for the timing on these trucks is a little funky, and overly complex if you ask me. It took a logging session to figure out what map the truck was referencing and when.

But there is a base map, base map limiting map, high octane map, and low octane map.

Generally speaking, the truck will run on the base map during idle/light cruise, then when you get into it, it'll switch to the high/low octane map depending on the knock feedback.

Only to 100% load, then back to base. Lol.

Some ignition tables in the TRD cals are not used.

I agree.. I dont agree with their VVTi strategy either. But we need to keep in mind what this was built around. a 300hp application that runs stupid rich.

The fueling strategy used in the N/A and TRD tunes is something that makes me shake my head. I haven't expounded on this much.. but the catalyst protection actually floods the truck with fuel to protect/cool the cats. On trucks with headers, I'll put money that pretty substantial gains will be had just being able to eliminate the catalyst protection feature.

From the images posted, I'm not seeing all of the ignition maps. There are some that are not used.

Also, there is ignition compensation tables for valve angle, IAT, ECT, and several other things. If you look only at the "main" tables you're missing half the picture, so don't automatically think wow that's way too much timing.

Ok cool. Some of the tables in the TRD CAL are not used.
The part about amount of timing was in reference to torspd comment about amount of ignition.

MBT, base 1, base 2 (not used), hi 1, high 2 (not used), low 1, 2 not used, vvt comp 1, 2,
    Etc
I'll have to double check but there is 6 or 7 ignition tables but most are never used.

Just like the TRD cal has 2 MAF scales in it. Lots of redundant Un used tables.

For S/C guys who want something to start from I can show you my dyno tuned tables. Good for 20-30whp over stock to start with.

Here you go. That's most of it.
Should have similar stuff In their software I would assume.

Plug these values in and on 91 octane should see around 20+ whp / 25+ ft lbs gain.

is it just my screen or is the image extremely blurry

I’m not sure what test you’re referring to. Maybe @o0opackersfano0o would be better equipped to ask that. He has a lot more experience with the Mongoose cable.
