well tried to write to the truck tonight, after you turn the key off for 10 sec and then on it tried to write for a sec and an error message popped up and said "error timeout". now the throttle body buzzes and won't start and it won't connect to the ecm anymore, also my scan guage wont connect either. leaving the batt disconnected for the night, but think she fucked. ill be opening a ticket.

Try disconnecting all the plugs from the PCM behind the glovebox and leave them unplugged for like an hour. That'll drain all the internal capacitors without a doubt. Also pull the PCM fuse I believe it is IGN 1 along with those plugs.

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
I am 4.88 on 37s and it is perfect for me. I am an AT and the highway cruising is perfect. I am close 6k lbs and get 15-16mpgs at 80mph, 2250 rpms.

Taco box is next in lieu of 5.29 for me.

Yeah taco box would be nice. I’m 4.56 and planning on 37’s. Figure when the time comes I’ll jump to 5.29. Truck isn’t my daily so I’m not super concerned about hwy rpm

uh oh thats not good. Hopefully a full discharge of the PCM / truck does the trick.

I always make sure, that blower is off, radio if off, bluetooth off on phone so a call doesnt come through the radio, all lights are off on the truck, key turned to run and let the electric boosted master cylinder pump up the accumulator (TRD OR 4x4 things). Let the truck sit for 30 secs, tap the brake pedal again so the accumulator pump does its thing one more time so it doesnt run in the middle of a flash. Laptop is above 50% charge and has been on for at least 5 min for all the software bits of windows to do their thing, windows updates paused. Plug in the MPVI2 and get everything up ready to write. Click write, wait for it to ask for it to turn the key off for 10 secs, flip the key off and let it beep 10 times, turn key on let it beep 3x click ok and walk away, dont touch or breathe on the truck! haha. I have flashed, god, probably 30-40 times without an issue. *fingers crossed, knocks on wood*

Yup, did pretty much all of that (no electronic booster). As soon as it turned the key back on from being off the 10seconds, almost immediately gave the error. Didn't have time this morning to mess with it.

    Faaawwwwwk.

What version of the VCM suite are you using?

Help -> About within either VCM Scanner or VCM Editor (or in control panel -> programs and features)

unplug the battery for 10-15 mins, then try to start the truck.
If you're lucky it will start up. If not the ECU is likely bricked.

Is bricked totally f#cked? I wonder if techstream could fix it by trying to reflash with it. If not, seems like its a problem that if solved could make someone a bit of profit.

usually with these ECUs bricked means you open it up and start soldering to the NBD and recover it the hard way. via CAN is dead.

    This, techstream can't do shit.
I've flash hundreds of vehicles with techstream (gotta love recalls...), Then I do my own with this hptuner and shit goes south.
