I would like get some cams too but I have to find some one to help me chose as I am not qualified to determine what changes I would need. Seems like a small group pushing the 1gr-fe far but happy to be another giving it a try now.

@ebuyaer2002 said cam gears not cams. Much easier install and 1/10th the cost. If you do in fact want cams- Kelford seems to be the way to go for our engines.

If anyone is local to Salem Oregon, I'm happy to offer my hptuners unit to anyone who would like to tune without buying the unit. You'll only have to pay for credits and @JustDSM tuning fee. Just trying to share this awesome tool and spread the knowledge.

Anyone use a Google Chromebook to pull the stock ECU file, send it to JustDSM to do his magic and then put new file back on ECU with the Chromebook?

Reason I ask as Im stock now but want a tune, after some mods I want a more tailored tune, then after some final mods I want one last tune.

I'm no computer guy and was thinking of getting a Chromebook for simplicity.
There is a tuner shop that has the HP tuner OBD2 module but after cost of 3 file up loads I would own the OBD2 module and put the rest to the computer which I'm finding I need anyway in life.

    Again I'm no computer guy.

Dont bother ever buying a Chromebook. HPTuners is windows based only. But outside of that, Chromebooks are so neutered for any sort of actual computer usage that when i worked at bestbuy ~ 80% of them were returned because someone cheaped out and then realized they couldnt do anything with them. Save some dollars, get a laptop with windows 10, 8gb of ram and a solid state drive (for the love of god no hard drives). You can find this for 300-500 bucks depending on where you look.

@Mark_H has a couple Dell Latitude E5530 and E5520 2.5GHz and SSD with 8-16 GB RAM for $50 each!!!! I picked up one and got a brand new battery off Amazon for $30. It’s like a sore dick, you can’t beat it.

What?! A legit brand new laptop which is a solid contender for actual use outside of HP Tuners? I just PM'ed him.

    Lol, sore dick. Wow.
I've heard that before but thought I'd never hear it again.

Shoot him a DM he is on somewhat daily but not all day. He also has some Surface 3s with Windows 10 Pro on them, not sure on the price for them though. The laptops also have fresh images of Windows 10 Pro as well.

Sorry for being late to the game. Are you still offering this service above?

I have a 2012 DCLB TRD Sport with 84,000 mikes.

If you reflash an ECU for my truck to delete the SAI, what would I need to do physically to my truck? E.g, install block off plates on air switching valves, an Hewitt-tech bypass kit, etc?

I have had intermittent starting issues (cranks over longer before it catches) on a few occasions. Almost like i was starting my carbed 80’s cutlass I had in high school. This might not be related to the SAIS, but the horror stories of limp mode worry me.

Thanks in advance for any assistance you I may offer.

actually, you don’t have to do anything after loading the tune. If you want, you can add block off plates and remove the system but it isn’t required.

after making a custom trans tune for @12TRDTacoma I decided to dig into my "standard" trans tune to make downshifts a lil more quickly later in the throttle pedal (65%+), not nearly as aggressive as 12TRD's but definitely something more so than the stockish downshift curves that the public V12 tune is.

If I get a chance this weekend ill throw it on the truck and report back.

After careful analysation of myself over time, I have determined that everything I do involving mods and tuning needs to scale on the aggressive end in order for me to enjoy it. If anything is done on the mild side I will always want more. Lol.

Your intercooler pump fuse is blown. Check your exterior fuse box, the 10 amp circuit.
