HP Tuners for 2005-2015

Was totally worth it for the rev hang tuning alone. The rest of the truck just runs better overall as well and the throttle tuning is also nice for the pedal feel without using a pedal commander or other junk.

 

Our trucks suffer from ecu learning...the ecu learns your driving habits and it takes 3 tank-fuls to learn the new habit (city driving at 40 max, highway driving, heavy load/off road driving). So no-one makes a "tuner" to instantly learn this? Sounds good, I'll save my money.

 

"self tuning" with regards to the auto transmission isnt really all that much. The tune DEFINITELY changes how the auto transmission changes and how the motor runs.

what do you mean, I can swap between my two ecus and turn key. only had to do the paperclip dance once.

 

Most people on this thread have real world experience with major changes to fuel economy, power, transmission tuning for auto and manual, etc. All of our trucks have achieved benefits from this. My truck is a completely different animal and it's not learned behaviour. The learning is more like the ECU fine tuning its own program but HP Tuning tunes the program itself. Tons of great info and experience in this thread.

The key handshake is unavoidable unfortunately. But between the usdm and audm is doesnt work. We pulled down the ecu, removed the chips, read them directly and can rewrite to put my audm data onto the taco chip.

 

K-line To canbus was basically just unplugging the kline and installing a canbus bench harness into the car

 

I dont think anyone is gaining "major" mpg. Yeah .5-1 but from his 15 to 19 to 22 is not probable (i want to say impossible)

 

True lol. I went overboard there. The truck doesn't run overly rich now so more power which for me leads to more throttle which leads to less mpg.

 

Bummer. I only have the valet key for my truck so can't program even new chip keys currently without getting the immo reset at the dealer or paying a locksmith big dollars.

 

Immo reset down here is like $200aud.

 

I've seen the techstream instructions, and it is similar to adding a new key but you have to have dealership management credentials to log in and get a reset code. Less than an hour of shop time, but they gotta pay the bills somehow.

 

Glad to see everyone is still tuning away here! I miss the X and have my eyes on one or 2 from time to time. If it weren't for this damn virus, i may have already pulled the trigger.

Trying to track down a Dealership level program but not much luck. We have a stand alone program available but this kahuna-19 Is making things hard
