He mentioned only buying credits if there was someone who could do the tune. Since my truck is basic and not too involved or evolved for heavy tuning

It depends which gauge you have.

-For AEM 30-0300 you connect the gauge's CAN outputs to the pro-link cables CAN input wires, or you can use 5v signal though the analog connections.

-For AEM 30-0330 you connect the two CAN wires to your vehicles odb2 directly spliced or via the passthough connector, or alternatively use analog 5v.

-For others you probably would need to stick with 5v analog unless odb2/CAN is specifically supported and HPtuners has added support.

Huge thank you to @JustDSM and @nd4spdbh for all the work you guys have been doing with this new software.
I used ND4s auto shift scheduling helper to “tune” my auto trans after slapping some 315’s on my 06. Feels like a whole new truck honestly. Just wanted to throw this out there for anyone curious, Flashed the truck today with a file I’ve been tweaking for a while and when I got it out driving it again the truck seemed to hold first gear until almost 30 mph before shifting into second, made me pucker a little:rofl: I went back to the software and changed the 1-2 upshift a tad bit from the chart and drove around for about 30 minutes and it seems to have fixed it for the most part.

Anybody know if the Cable MPVI works with our trucks the same? my friend has that and am wondering if all i need was to purchase tokens and a map from JustDSM to flash my 05.

You may want to upgrade to the MPVI2 for full support. Not sure if the regular one supports Toyota or not. Someone here would know but everyone that I know of is using MPVI2

Anyone have any idea why id be seeing knock correction even though knock feedback is above the -3 value?

One of my knock sensors is tripping a CEL currently every time I drive for about 10 minutes. Not too sure if the sensor’s bad or what but my logs don’t show over 1* knock over the -3* baseline

Yeah i doubt its a bad sensor no cels at all. Just curious how there could be actual knock retard going on, but have a happy > -3 knock feedback.

Can someone simplify this for me? I haven't really dug into an engine since they had carburetors and all this computer jazz has me spinning.

I'd like to buy a thingamajig to plug into my ECU on my stock 15OR to improve the shift points and get rid of the lag, what thingamajig options do I have?? Thx

You can get a MPVI2 from any place you like. They run ~$300. You’ll then need 4 universal credits from HPTuners to license your ECU. That’ll set you back $200. Then a tune which does what you’re asking and more is $50 (what I charge).

To slightly simplify things, you can find the MPVI2 already preloaded with credits too if you look around.

That's the down & dirty of it.
