    It's DLX son!
Yep, this was 1.2 with the test vvti. I also made the couple of changes to the trans tuning to bring that up to v14. I had to get a new laptop over the summer and was very lazy about being hptuners installed again. I shouldn't have waited so long, but version 1.1 was so good it was easy to wait.

Are you generally going with the test vvti for most people at this point?

The slower off the line response could also be chalked up to all my junk loaded up for the trip. Looking back at your pm you mentioned the changes would likely be seen above 4400rpm, which I may have never even hit!

I added some advance down low in the test file which should have helped the low end. Perhaps see how it feels without the extra ballast and see?

Yeah, there were some changes made above 4400 which should help top end, but I gather you weren't playing around in that region much on a trip. You should note some improved top end. Nothing "OMG" like, but some extra pep. If you want to leave the test file in for now, see how it does without the ballast and let me know.

The VVTi test file that you're running is pretty much standard on most S/C setups now as I had feedback from a number of folks that it was a step in the right direction so I've elected to use that data as standard fare on appropriate setups.

Just did a 700ish mi round trip with my "v15" trans tune that I have been testing to try and get rid of the 4th gear hang.

Most of this trip however was loaded with 4k lbs of trailer n gear so I can't give it a fair test result... That stated I averaged ~10mpg towing with lots of wind and LOTS of elevation gain at 65mph so can't complain.

I got a 1100ish mile round trip unloaded trip planned next weekend where I'll really be able to see if "v15" has fixed issues. I will report back.

Bit the bullet and just got my tuner over the holidays. About to drop some cam gears in and then get some tuning done. What's the overall process for jumping in on the trans and engine tunes discussed here?

Congrats! Unless you have a local tuner, recommend you contact @nd4spdbh for transmission tune info and @JustDSM for your engine tune.

    It's pretty simple.

Grab your tune file. Always a good idea to save the stock file somewhere safe.

Contact @JustDSM and pay him. Email him your tune file. Wait and he will send a tune back that's both engine and trans.

    Upload tune file.

MPVI2 arrived in the mail. Looks nifty.

There is a problem though, and it seems pretty significant:

It won't fit into the OBD port.

The cardboard and plastic keeps getting in the way.

    Wat gives?

If anybody is having weird off-idle stumbles or hesitations take a good look at your oil control valves. Had a very slight intermittent hesitation I couldn't figure out for a long time but it was never a huge deal to me until I installed my tune. The tune somehow amplified that hesitation to the point where I decided to reinstall the stock tune. The only code my truck ever had was a P0022 and it happened only once which was my only hint that the oil control valves could be going bad. After installing new OEM valves, that hesitation went away completely. Testing the old valves, I saw the passenger side one would occasionally stick when activated. The valves also have small filters that are installed on the side of the heads but I haven't replaced them yet. I'm planning a supercharger install so I'll replace them then when I'll have better access.

Was talking with JustDSM and he mentioned that I should post up my findings so it's out there for anybody running into the same issue.

The software needed is the main VCM Tuner suite or the Beta?
