Ok guys well my Girlfriend got a 98 toyota 4x4 and we were trying it out the other night. It was doin fine it the mud only one problem her passenger side hud wont lock in.... it will go half way to lock but it feels like it is binding up. I havent taken it apart yet and checked it but just wondering if anyone has had this problem and what was the solution to fix it. I'm pretty good about fixing things on toyotas have had alot break on mine but have never ran across anything like this. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanxs for any help on this.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
Try going in reverse and see if you can turn it the rest of the way then.

The truck. Sometimes manual hubs get stuck and can be a bear to get to move. Try backing the truck up for a few feet then try to engage the hub. If you have a rubber mallet you give it a gentle "adjustment" in the direction you want the hub to go.

You may want to dismantle it first and grease it. It could just be dry.

I'm assuming its a manual trans & the other poster pretty much said it for me, gently roll back & forth a few feet & try turning the hub , if this doesn't work you could remove just the outer screws that hold the hub together & check for grease it may be dry & need to be repacked, I don't know about the mallet thing though
