So i thought it would be a good week. My truck was riding like shit and couldn't get it aligned properly. I've noticed a humming "vroooom vrooom vrooooom vroooom" (lol) noise in the past couple of months. I had a shop replace my brake pads/shoes and that stopped a clunk that happened everytime i hit the brakes. good so far...i had the drive shaft u-joint clunk aswell...replaced all 3 u-joints and now it's gone. replaced the passenger front wheel bearing...the shop checked all the other bearings and all were good. They also installed LR UCAs I recently bought from a TW member...pretty much in new condition. It rides smooth now and i'm pretty happy with the results....Now, I was expecting all noises to be gone...Any idea what else causes a hum? I currently have 265/75/16's with about 50k on them...could it be the tires? It's definately not a sound I've heard from mud terrain's or any other tires I've owned...Any thoughts? oh, 2007 DC Prerunner with bils 5100 set at 2.5 in...

I experienced a humming noise on my 09 when it was lifted. I believe my hum was from the driveline. How do you like the LR UCAs? They are a big improvement. I knew you would pleased with them.

Happens after 15-20 then up to 70 75 is as fast as I've gone...the slower...vroom vroom vroom....faster vroomvroomvroomvroom...still does it when i take my foot off the pedal...and I can't really pinpoint a location...i thought i heard it in the front passenger side but now i dont even know...and i tried recording a clip with my phone and failed...it's just noise...

UCAs are awesome man...it's smooth now. Hadn't felt like that in a while. thanks again. my truck feels new again.

that picture is old, i no longer have that 3 inch spacer lift...i have the billies set at 2.5 inches. looks level, just a bit higer up front.

Well, after the drive and paying attention to detail...the hum starts of slow and is at its worst at 30-40...then the volume goes down a bit but the hum becomes high pitched and at a more rapid pace if that even makes sense...then it becomes noticible at 60-70 again...i coasted and it did the same thing but backwards...to it being worse at 30-40..its loud...tried recording with my phone again to no avail...everywhere i focused at seemed to be where it was coming from so no help there....drive shaft not balanced? Carrier bearing? No vibes on floor or shifter...slight vibes on steering wheel upon take of which last like sec maybe if that..my wife wouldnt notice it... hmmm...its killing me...and sometimes i grt tired of loud music...

if the sound is proportional to vehicle speed, irregardless of transmission gear, (i.e. the rotation speed of the wheels), ..you can bet something driveline related, aft of the tranny... first guess would be a pinion bearing making the sound...

I've got some humming and vroom vroom vroom in mine and vibrations in pedal and steering wheel bad. But it all goes away in 4X4 so I'm pretty sure my needle bearing went kaput

When you stop does it stop? Does it get louder as speed increases? Sound's like a bad wheel bearing. They drone proportionally with speed.

Cool. did they spin the drive line while they were under there? Maybe it's one of those bearings.

...sounds like it's differential related... could be pinion bearing noise...

It's really loud at 30-45....then as speed increases...it kinda blends in with the rest of the sounds...then hit the brakes...and from 45-30 its really loud again...then kinda dies down...
