Alabama huh? We Tennesseans used to have certain words for you all especially during football season. I think Alabama is a different brand of Southernism than Tennessee. In all seriousness though, we used to go down there a lot. Nice area and not near as crowded as Florida. Plus the seafood was pretty good.

We defined the word Hick in Alabama. I used to put on my overalls, grap a six pack of Orange Crush and Moon Pies and go to local dump with my pump action .22 and a shopping bag full of REAL M80's....and a large slab of bacon fat.....put the fat on an old sofa and shoot rats the size of small dogs. WHAT FUN!@!!!!!!

    NOW THAT'S SOUTHERN!!!!

Our idea of fun was to go to one of the large firecracker super-centers ( there were MANY of them around us). The best was called " Big Daddys' Fireworks". We would buy a grocery bag of firecrackers. We would usually buy large quantities of the 500 packs of whistle rockets and boxes of M-80's. I swear we'd spend countless hours finding creative things to do with them. The stupidest thing ever was cramming a bunch into a yellow jackets nest, which meant we blew the nest wide open which caused them to swarm all over the place.

I always enjoyed shooting bottle rockets of the dock and into the river. Cool sounds!

Ya, letting bottle rockets off underwater is pretty amazing. We had friends outside of Nashville who had a little house on the lake. We'd go up there and let off those big bottle rockets underwater at night. It looked pretty amazing when they'd explode. I'm sure the fish were wondering what in the hell was going on.

I did "Viking Funerals" with my M80's and Cherry Bombs. We would catch 4-5 frogs, put them into one of those old 1 gallon milk cartons with one side cut out and stuffed with dry straw.....put in the fireworks, tie string to the frog legs and attach to stick, light straw and push it out onto a pond with a long branch.......5 minutes later.......KABOOOOM! Frob body parts flying all over the place. This is how REAL MEN spend their youth in the SOUTH!!!!!!!! LONG LIVE BAMA!!!!!

Uh no eggs on chicken fried steak..

However, an egg on a big ole burger with bacon is acceptable.

It's one thing to argue about politics and the economy, but keep the racism out of here. SilverSeven, if you said that to my face, I would have killed you.

General Motors says it will discontinue Hummer after its bid to sell the brand to a Chinese company failed. GM says it was unable to complete the sale of Hummer to heavy equipment maker Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machines Co.

Looks like the end of Hummer.
