I need to move to BC. Or newfoundland already. I used to work with a newfy and he always gave me moose from back home. God its amazing. Wish there were some around here to hunt.

Mind you I think I'd need to get a gun then. I think it would be too hard to take down a moose with a compound bow. I've only done deer hunting here in ontario. I've heard BC and alberta is great. I'm trying to convince my uncle to come up from the states and head out west with me to go hunt

Nah...plenty of moose killed with longbow and recurve over the years. Compound is more than sufficient

good to know. otherwise I'd imagine a crossbow would definitely work then. could always get it back from my uncle and use that again. I just love using my compound. Makes it a bit more interesting and fun.

I notice the hard core amoungst us noticed the gear you were wearing. Just dropped a bundle on the new pattern this week. I too went from FJ to Taco, so I already know I will have more room.

Little tree air fresheners. Clazzio black leather seat covers.
I can't find the picture but I had one when I had the 4pnt muley in the back of it haha. I love my Sitka gear! I won't buy any other camo. That's just my personal preference. Luckily working in the hunting industry allows me to get deals on things ;)
I've got 3 sets of sitka gear and it's simply amazing.
The sad thing is, me and dad loaded all up and went hunting for a week. And between the camo, guns, optics and other hunting and camping gear it was like half what I paid for my FJ haha it's just sad to think about

Headed out to tomorrow for two weeks of camping/hunting. First vacation in two years longer than three days. My wife has an archery bull tag for Nevadas best elk unit. My old lady hunts with a Recurve so it will be a challenge for sure but I have faith. I threw in my Recurve as well with some Judo points since dove and blue grouse is open. Should be a blast. Hope to post a picture of the 380 8x7 bull ive been watching all summer in my Taco when I get back. Wish us luck boys...see you in a couple weeks.

What's that old joke...My biggest fear when I die is that my wife will sell my guns and gear for what I told her I paid for them.

I started bird hunting about 5 years ago (in eanest). I added up the cost of my dogs, training time and aids, birds, new shotguns, shells, fuel, licenses, clothes etc.. I think that pheasant came out to $750 p/lb the first year, lol.

My wife got a chuckle out of it at the dinner table.

My plans to go high looking for duskies has been postponed. 2 wildfires blew up and we're blanketed by thick smoke right now.

I've seen two deer put in a Honda Prelude. Broke the exhaust off at the manifold coming out through ruts that would give a 4wd something to think about. Where there's a will (and bourbon), there's a way.

Boom! The wife connected with her 46 pound recurve. The bull broke his third off so he missed 380 by 5 inches. Damn. My wife also shot a MT lion 45 minutes before she dropped this bull quite the morning!!!

Are you using hounds? Shooting a cougar with a bow without hounds would be the achievement of a lifetime. Several lifetimes actually. Where do you fit all the meat from your elk? Looks like you are already loaded to the tits!

It was without hounds just shit house luck. I have had several pictures of the lion on trail cameras all summer long using the spring she w as sitting. Lots of photos of this bull also. They both came in during daylight hours. Just a the luckiest day of hunting she will ever have.

The bull is quartered and in the truck in this photo. Camping gear around it. My wife is on cloud nine!!
