The earlier the better unless you don't mind pinstripes.

The first time I went through there was with a group the first week of April. I went solo some time in July or August but had a machete to clear away some of the brush along the sides of some of the trail. The next time I'll be sure to take my battery powered hedge trimmers to cut back the blackberry bushes.

There are a few sections that can get a bit muddy if there has been a lot of rain recently, so that's another thing to consider.

Just type in Hurricane creek on Youtube. You will get a bunch of vid’s. We did HC as part of the Smokey Mt Rally in April. Well worth it. Make sure you know how to enter the trail as it’s right off the interstate, and it’s not an exit!!

Camping going to be involved? If so, I need to move my work schedule around.

I was going to make a weekend out of it and I think a couple more were too so there should be plenty to camp with.

I've been in Black Mountain since Sunday. I thought it might be nice to do this trail if it ever stops raining.

I have family in Black Mountain and a few weeks of vacation time to use. Just set a date (or two) and I'll probably be able to make it.

I’m guessing thats all private land and I didn’t see any camp sites when we did it. There is a camp ground further up the interstate right off the highway. I’m sure some local folks will comment about. Just my opinion.
