I wanted to create this thread since TW has a pretty active community in SC, NC, and VA. I was thinking we could keep the thread updated with real time events in your area.

I'm about a hour Northeast of Raleigh in the Roanoke Rapids area. So I wont see anything till Friday. I've read that the coast has volunteer/mandatory evacuations. In my areas they are calling for 7-15 inches of rain which will overflow the lakes, Roanoke river and Tar.

When Matthew hit we got 8 inches of rain. All my local (country roads) where a creek was completely flooded the road and made them impassable for about 2 days. Fishing creek flooded pretty bad too.

Looks like I'm on an 'island' and all the major lakes near me drain away.

I would think most folks within a few miles of the coast or in the path of a surge would leave.

Yep I’m evacuating all of our clients first thing tomorrow. It’s about as fun as herding cats to get 15 young adult men to pack their shit to get out of town :annoyed:
We were lucky enough to find a hunting lodge to put everyone in that is just east of Raleigh.

Wife and kids are in Greensboro now riding it out with the option of Asheville or PA if we have to go with a long term plan.

Good luck and Godspeed to everyone on the coast.

Looking pretty ugly for everyone. My brother is at Ft. Bragg and they have evacuated half the base but they have not decided if they are evacuating the rest or not.

Thought they had a room in Raleigh, not far enough inland?

I’m hoping it doesn’t get too terribly bad here. Packing a bag to take with me to work incase i have to stay. Hopefully that won’t happen though. I don’t want my mom and son to be home alone.

My wife and kids? Yea they booked one further inland at my request lol. Greensboro gives them more options to head to Asheville or PA if need arises

Check out my build thread (Beginning of Money Pit)
In my area (Warren county VA) we are expecting rainfall between 6-12 inches, and wind up to 40mph. Its been very wet here for the last three days, and I expect loss of all major power due to trees falling. I live on top of a mountain, so the basement is where ill go.

Replacing everything worn, broken, and rusted.
I'm near Matthews just outside Charlotte. Got extra propane, kegs of beer, empty kegs full of water. Gonna get some flashlight batteries. I know we'll get tons of rain and heavy gusts by time it's in our area.

Lowe's has been packed and out of many things as items are being rerouted to the outer banks and Wilmington.

I have space in Sumter, SC. Two beds that come with two bathrooms.

Also a house in Cherokee/Maggie Valley if someone wants to go that far. I am checking now to see if it is available this weekend. Sleeps 14...
