We have field offices for the National Weather Service out of DC/Maryland in my office building and I was chatting with Chad Lee the East Coast Science and Storm Surge Specialist for the coastal Atlantic. He was telling me that from the models they see at the moment this storm could make a left turn fast as it has started that track. He also said its going to depend on the Bermuda/Stetsen banks, gulf stream and Blake Plateau currents that will dictate these changes.

Also put a quarter on top of a frozen cup of water in the freezer this will allow you to tell if the food has thawed out....

Stay safe up there. I ran from Irma last year and glad I did even though it was a shit show. You can hide from the wind but the water will find you. Cat 4+ hurricanes and alcohol don't mix.

Update on that. Looks like it may have to be Charleston, WV for refuge. Storm just took a turn. At least I won’t need shoes up there

We have some Party drink/water filter dispensers, that rarely get used. We plan to station these at sinks as "running water faucets", then just refill them as needed out of stored water. Also Handi-wipes

What two? Helene will go N and die in cold water, Issac is down to a TS and should weaken as it moves W staying below Cuba.

Please don't add to the panic with bad info.
