What hurricane Harvey did to my truck, Houston area.
    I have a 2016 TRD OffRoad 4x4, DBL cab.
So a few questions to members who might know....prefer people who really know....not guesses.
My truck while parked in driveway got about a 1" of water in it for about 2 hrs.
Thirteen years in my house, 2 hurricanes, 3 tropical storms and I have never had water over the curb.
The water to came up to within 1' of my front door.
From the curb to my front door elevation wise is 4' ! A distance of 25'.

I dried the floor out with towels....let the engine run for 3 hrs with heater on floor in my sisters bigger garage.
Carpet is dry but when I press down I can tell whatever backing it has, maybe foam, is still damp or wet.
And my interior map lights stay on while driving.

Are there any sensors of wiring under the front seats or carpet?
And should I get the carpet replaced like asap?

The water no doubt got up under the truck....not really moving water.
So I have read on here about the differential breather mod, which I don't have.
I assume I should get the grease or fluid of that changed out?
    Oil change?
Wheel bearings or are they sealed?
Anything else I should do of check??
Is there another place I should or could post these questions?
    Thanks for any input!

I already got my Honda Cross Tour to the Honda dealership....only 2 people made it in there.....happened go be 2 service tech guys.
The Honda got water up and over the top of the front and back seats...leather.
After the water receded...It started....I also did the same thing drying wise except for 7 hrs.
    Definitely tearing the carpet out.
Seats came out pretty dry though the foam inside....not sure....though it seems pretty dry when I reach up under the seat to touch, squeeze.

    Regardless....focused on my Taco!

Well if it does need professional repair, does your insurance cover it? Or is the flooding considered "an act of God"

Going to have to pull the carpet to get it all dry under there. I'm sure just like the 2nd gen there are connectors running along the floor.

^^^This is the best option. Flooded vehicle's aren't worth anything.

You realize it's like a $15/mo difference to drop that to near nothing, right?

    good luck to ya.
Myself, I would go through insurance and try for a total. Water inside the interior is no good.

pull the seats and carpet out when you can and let it dry. check the rear diff fluid, the trans and front diff breathers are high in the engine compartment. wheel bearings should be fine

There is wring under the carpet but I believe its just for the sensors in the seats. Either way I would take out the carpet and let it hang dry. I had a water leak in my truck and had to remove the carpet for it to completely dry. I don't think you need to replace the carpet, mine was fine once it dried.

    Good luck man! total bummer

There are AC vents under the front seats, so I'm sure they filled with water. A problem you're going to have with any wet vehicle in east Texas is mold. You're going to have to clean everything that got wet with bleach or another mold killer...and then you'd be riding around in something that smells like mold killer.

Your best bet is file an insurance claim for cleanup. If the engine didn't take water then it shouldn't be too bad.

    Too few to list.
At insurance point of view, they would want to fix a flood damaged vehicle as it would be cheaper for them instead of totaling it out. If totaled out, (after paying you out) they would try to sell it for as much as they can get but will have to disclose flood damage. The damage can be extensive and not just wet carpet and seats. Engine, tranny, transfer case, gas tank, etc.. can have water in it. If it was mine, I'd want it totaled out so I can replace with a new one.

I wouldn't file an insurance claim for something i could do myself. Plus I'm sure it won't help resale value if it shows up on a carfax report. If it only got an inch of water that's not high enough to get to any electronics
